We are happy to announce that we have released version 5.1 Build #734 of AllWebMenus Pro - DHTML Menu / JavaScript Menu Maker.

Features and fixes of the new version:

- The Border property now supports "individual" borders for any of the 4 sides (top, bottom, left, right) of both Groups and Items, allowing for many new interesting effects.

- Fixed a problem where an item in "HTML - Full Mode" did not respond correctly to mouse events.

- Fixed a problem when editing the <Item Text> property and the DPI was more than 120.

Use cases of the new "Separate Borders" feature:

Note: The "Separate Borders" feature along with the following use cases were recommended by Charles Mote, President of Mote Marketing Inc. (www.motegrafx.com) through detailed specifications (with screenshots on suggested User Interface, etc.). Many thanks to Charles for his constructive and detailed feedback.

Version 5.1.734 has made it possible to apply individual borders to any of the 4 sides (top, bottom, left and/or right) of a navigation bar, main menu, or submenu item (as can be done with CSS border attributes).

For example, there are many situations in which it is desirable to have a border only at the bottom of a main menu item (to indicate that it is highlighted).

Example:
Menu Item 2 has a 3 pt. BOTTOM border to provide a subtle highlight:

In another very common scenario, the user should be able to place a border on only the right side of each main menu item (except the furthest right), to act like a “pipe” separator between menu items.

Example:
Menu Items 1 and 2 have a 3 pt. RIGHT border only to provide a separator without the use of any images:

javascript_menu_pipe_form

You can also view an online menu example that demonstrates more use cases of the "Separate Borders" feature.
