When you link a menu created by AllWebMenus Pro into one of your HTML pages, a portion of JavaScript code, called Linking Code, is automatically generated and added right after the <body> TAG of your page's source code.

In case that the Linking Code instance has not be placed in the correct position, because either you have chosen to place it manually or you are using a CMS (Content Management System) that places it in a different way of AllWebMenus Pro, you will encounter a lot of problems regarding the appearance of your menu; your menu may not appear in all the browsers or may appear corrupted in some of them.

In case you are using specific CMSs there are a few differences in the positioning of the Linking Code instance within your page's source code (e.g. FrontPage). In some cases CMS tools position the Linking Code instance in different TAG than the <body> TAG and need to perform specific actions so as to integrate correctly AllWebMenus Pro with them. You can find all the appropriate information for the integration of AllWebMenus Pro with them, in the following link of our company's site: http://www.likno.com/web_authoring_tools.html

If you are not using any CMS, then the solution is simpler. You either have to relink your menu using the automatic process of the AllWebMenus Pro (you can find all the appropriate information about how to unlink a menu through AllWebMenus Pro in the following article: http://www.likno.com/blog/how-to-unlink-an-allwebmenus-menu-from-your-pages/655/) or you have to edit your page (i.e. the page that is using a menu created by our DHTML menu maker) using a simple text editor and move the Linking Code right after the <body> TAG of your page's source code.

The AllWebMenus Pro applicaton provides you the capability to create fancy menus using various customized images. When you have a menu that uses images, you may encounter the need of restoring these images; images can be temporarily lost from your menu's project and the reasons that can cause this inconsistency may be a lot. For example you may move the project file, but not the folder which contains the images.

To restore the images of your menu using AllWebMenus Pro, you have to perform the following steps:

  1. Go to the "Menu Editor" of your AllWebMenus Pro application and choose an item from the "Menu Structure" panel.
  2. In the "Item Properties" panel click on a property that involves images (e.g. Image). The property does not have to actually have an image; it can be [no image].
  3. Then, click the pointer in order to open the "Select Image" window.
  4. Click on "Add New Image", and browse your folders to find where the images are stored.
  5. Select all the images from the folder and import them.
  6. Click "Yes" in all the warning windows that will appear.
  7. Finally, click "Cancel" in order for the property you selected to return to its default value. Refresh your menu and the images will be there.

In order to enhance the "Mouse Over" and "Mouse Click" states of the items of your JavaScript Menu, there is the "Formatting Mode" option that you can select in the <Text> property of the item.

The "Formatting Mode" option allows you to include simple HTML tags in the text used for the item that will enhance the effects in the three different states of the item.

Based on the suggestion of a customer, here is an example where the first letter of the item's text changes color on the "Mouse Over" and "Mouse Click" state:

In the <Text> property of the second main item (Main Item 2), we have included the following code:

In that case, the menu will appear as follows (check the effect in the "Main Item 2"):

If you wish to see this in action, you can download the AllWebMenus DHTML Menu Maker from our website: www.likno.com/download.html
