I have a customer who wants to use a Google Web Font in a horizontal menu that I made using AllWebMenus Pro v5.3. Can this be done? If so, how?

Dear Skip,
Yes, you can use WebFonts with AllWebMenus, but you have to make sure that the fonts load before your menu does, in order to make sure that the menu size is correctly calculated.
To be on the safe side you should use a standard substitute font with the same size as the WebFont you will be using.
To do this you can create a custom font group in the Style Editor:
