October 27th, 2012AWM: iFrame does not work using Firefox
Knowledge Base support case for AllWebMenus, abstracted and stripped of all user’s private info.
Initial Email From: David
Initial Email Subject: iframes not working any more using Firefox
Support Case Month: October 2012
I just upgraded to latest AllWebMenus hoping that would resolve my issue, but it did not.
iframes display fine using IE (IE8), and they used to work fine in Firefox.
Using Firefox, the target now displays in its own application window instead of the iframe.
I recompiled the menu after upgrading and uploaded to my site, the related .js file. Also the new files from awmdata folder.
Further testing showed that it has to do with Addins.
Now pdf files display properly in the iframe, as do html files, but still, .doc files open using MSWord In a separate window.
I’m still looking for a errant plugin for Office
Thanks,
David

Hello,
Could you please send us some more information regarding this issue? Did you find out which Add-in specifically is causing this?

Sorry for the lack of detail…
I’m using Firefox 16.0.1.
Pdf files now DO display properly; needed to re-enable the Adobe Acrobat plugin.
So, now the only targets that do not display inside the iframe are MS Office documents (Word/Excel). They open in Word and Excel.
I use Office 2003.
I DO have the MS Office 2003 11.0.8161.0 Plugin enabled.
Also, 2007 MS Office System 12.0.4518.1014 Plugin is enabled
JAVA is up to date 10.7.2.11
Thanks,
David

Dear David,
This is definitely related to your office addins. If the menu opens the documents in Word, then even plain page links will do the same thing.
You have to look at your office options to change this.
I am afraid I do not know the details of how this works in order to guide you.
