I am using Frontage 2002 (10.6308.6870) on windows 7. I am running 5.3 Build #904.

I can import the Frontpage navigation structure but when I try to generate the menu Allwebmenus stops working.

Hello Kostas,

I do get this message

automation error

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear Geoff,

This means that AllWebMenus does not have enough access rights to do what you are asking. This can be caused if you have set the FrontPage to run in “Compatibility Mode” in windows 7, as this also gives it administrator rights.

I believe the easiest way to correct this issue, is to run AllWebMenus “as Administrator”. To do this permanently, you need to right-click on the desktop shortcut, select Properties, then the “Compatibility” tab, then check the “Run this program as an administrator” option. Note that this will only work when you start AllWebMenus from the desktop icon. It will not work if you start AllWebMenus by double-clicking a project file.

Support Case Month: January 2013

Hi,

I am trying to activate my AWM5.2 Build #792 that I just downloaded from your website (the most recent build that I am entitled to).

The installation id is: {INSTALLATION ID REMOVED}

The error that is shown is:
"It appears that you are trying to activate an Unknown Installation using a version 5 Pro License."

Please help me to get the compilation working.

Best Regards,
Daniel

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear Daniel,

Are you sure that this is all the Installation ID? It seems that you are missing 8 characters.

This could be a registry issue, so my recommendation is to try resetting the registry. To do this, please:

1) open the windows Registry Editor by writing “regedit” in the “start->run”:

2) find and delete the following key (from the tree on the left hand side):

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Likno Software\AllWebMenus

3) Run AllWebMenus again. This time you should have a new Installation ID.

4) If the new Installation ID is still as small as your current one, please try running AllWebMenus “as administrator”.

Kostas

Hi Kostas,

Thanks for your prompt reply!

I couldn't find the key in the registry but when I run the program as administrator the id wasn't truncated.

So now it works. :)
Thanks for a great application and support!

Best Regards,
Daniel

Support Case Month: November 2012

Hi guys

hope all well

could you advice as to where would be the best place to upload small (less than 10mb) screen videos please per lesson unit/specific subject?

should we upload them into the main unit files folder for all access or somewhere else?

also is this a professor or admin permission to upload content such as this

best and thanks,
Mark

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello Mark,

Every lesson has its own files.

You can upload to the lessons files any type of file you want  and then use it in the lesson's units.

You can insert the files to any unit of the lesson.

Only the professor is able to upload content (including files) to the lessons and not the administrator.

Support Case Month: April 2012

Hi,

I just tried to install the Modal Windows Builder 3x, but it gives an alert:

file registration failed, the installation will be cancelled.

Now I have also un unregistered previous version suddenly.

Could you help met out please?

regards,

Erik

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear Erik,

This is very weird and suggests that either some files were locked or you do not have write rights in this PC.

I suggest that you make a new installation attempt, but first make sure that nothing will be blocking it. Specifically you should:

1) Restart windows to make sure that no files are still locked by a windows process.

2) Make sure that no other applications are running, preferably even turn off the antivirus.

3) Make sure that the old installation is removed, manually deleting any remaining files under “C:\Program Files (x86)\Likno Web Modal Windows Builder”.

4) Install the application again.

5) If you still get an error, try running the installer “as Administrator”.

Dear Jon,

This can occur if AllWebMenus does not have the correct access rights to write into the Dreamweaver registry regarding the AllWebMenus location.

Can you please try running AllWebMenus independently “as Administrator” to see if this corrects the problem?

I ran AWM as admin first. Opened project. Then ran DW. Opened page to edit pressed Edit Menu button. Same Error.

Dear Jon,

I checked our records and I see that with your AllWebMenus license you can use up to version 5.3.830. This is a pretty old version and it is possible that it did not support CS5.

Would you please try downloading the latest AllWebMenus version to see if this will correct the problem? Note that this will turn you back to “trial” mode, but you will still be able to confirm that the new build resolves the problem. If it does, then the answer is simple: you need to upgrade.

This is something that I would recommend anyway, as build 830 is pretty old and has known issues with both IE9 and Safari 5 (your menu may not even appear in some cases on these browsers).

That did it.

Question : how to implement new version for Safari functionality. - Just re-compile and upload js files????

Thanks Kostas

JON

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Yes. If you simply compile your menu(s) and upload the new compiled files, they will immediately work for all the latest browsers and mobile devices.

Make sure that you upload the library files (typically in the “awmdata” folder) and also make sure that you do this for ALL your menus if you have multiple menus in a page.
