Two items ... I would like the background of the menu to expand all the way across the DIV so there is no white space on the right ... and I would like to make the home icon linked to the home page.

Thank you in advance for all of your help!

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello Jim,

In order to make you menu act as a menu bar relative to your DIV with an ID of "container" click on Menu Type,

Select "Yes, widen items….", "Element with ID" and insert container

Select the "Do not widen items…", Show Background at Right.

menubar settings

As for the link on home icon I am afraid this is not possible through the Main Menu Group Header (as it is right now).

However, you can achieve that result by removing the Main Menu Group Header (I guess you don't need it anymore)

Click on Style Editor -> Main Group Style -> Has Header and select No.

menu style editor

Then, select your Home main menu item in your Menu Editor, click on All Values and find the Foreground Image, select the Home icon that already exists. This way you can have that design with the home icon on home main menu item and you can also place the link to your home page in Link value.

menu properties

Please, let me know if you need further help.

Support Case Month: May 2013

Hi,

I am still having problems with the tabbed menus.

If you will look at the referenced URL, {URL REMOVED}, and compare it to the {URL REMOVED} you will see a discrepancy between the two that are supposed to be the same.

When I inspect the <div> with Firebug in the ResponsiveRetro.html, the problem appears to be that the Tab Header Area width is expanding to 1154px, whereas the  same inspection of the SynEcomm.html page shows that same area is expanding to  692px.

I have the CSS set to "auto" in both menus.

Can you advise?

Thanks,
John

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear John,

This happens because in your “master.css” you have given a “width: 100%;” to the container <div>. The tab control just fills the container <div>.

Dear Kostas,

One question, please.

Tooltip is working properly only in IE, and partially in Opera.

In the Firefox, Safari, Chrome not work.

Is there some problem ?

Thanks for the answer, regards, Roman.

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear Roman,

This is caused due to a known timing problem with the way the libraries were loaded when you had multiple libraries in the same page.

The specific problem has been fixed in the latest versions of all products, but I see that it still remains in the scroller compiled files.

To resolve this, you will need to recompile all your projects (tooltip, modal, accordion) with the latest version of the respective application.

I will also forward this to our developers and hopefully release a fixed “scroller” within the day, so that you can also compile that.

Kostas

Dear Roman,

I just uploaded the new scroller release (216.3) which fixes (among others) the library loading issue that affected your tooltips.

Dear Roman,

Thanks for spotting this! I have uploaded a newer file (same version) which has this fixed. Please download again and confirm that it now works.

Please use the primary download and make sure that you deleted your browser’s “cache files” before downloading.

Initial Email Subject: MEGA DROP DOWN MENU
Support Case Month: June 2012

I have been using your software and have worked many hours to build my own MEGA DROP DOWN menu.  I have gotten it to appear fine in IE9, but I am having trouble with the submenus in GOOGLE CHROME and FIREFOX.  Sometimes the drop down menus do not show the white background so that the text in those menus shows up easily...if I reload the page after it loads the first time, it does show properly.  Any ideas?  Thanks!

Hello,

Just before the submenu opens for the first time it tries to calculate the width/height it should take.

The HTML you entered has a lot of images without specified width/height, so when it opens it becomes a given size that fits the text. Then the images load and push the text down, but the submenu cannot re-adjust itself.

If you view the page again, then the images are already cached and hence appear instantly and can be properly measured.

There are two solutions for this:

1) Specify the width/height for each image.

2) Specify the width/height of the <table> container of each submenu.

Initial Email Subject: Image Maps in WTB
Support Case Month: February 2012

I am trying to use WTB to create compact navigation for a web site. I wish to use single images which are the identical dimensions of the tab bodies and have mapped hyperlinks to different pages within the website.
Once each navigation tab system is complete, I would like to anchor each to a table row. I will surround the tabbed navigation with sliced graphics to give a clean integrated appearance. See link for graphical representation:
http://scottiedtv.com/index2.htm
I have compiled screen shots of the settings I've used in the project to make my issue as clear as possible in the above related URL.
What I am experiencing is both vertical and horizontal scroll bars after I embed the html code into the body source HTML code. I have adjusted the CSS body code in the styles editor; regardless of what I do the scroll bars appear.
I would greatly appreciate your help with this issue; I have been a long time customer of Likno.
Also, is there a way to have the tabs line up with both the left and right sides of the container? I've tried adjusting the margins, padding etc. and still have surplus space on the right side at the "page 10" tab.
Thank you!

Hello,

Is it possible to export and send me your Tabs project along with any photos that you are using? It will be much faster than trying to troubleshoot this problem without it.

Please use the menu “Project -> Export -> To ZIP” to export the project and send it to me.

Hello Kostas,
I think I've resolved the scroll bar problem by properly defining the image/map with div tags and style declarations (please verify the code). Attached is the zipped project including assets. Also attached is a screen shot of the project, wherein I have included 2 questions specific to spacing issues.
Thanks for your help and quick reply.

Steve

Dear Steve,

You could change the tab header width and left/right margins so that the tab headers seem centered:

header css properties

This would also require the container width to change to 800 instead of 798.

Kostas,

Thanks for the tabs alignment suggestion. For future projects, how do I calculate tab width relative to container size to assure proper centering? There seems to be automatic padding/spacing somewhere within the tabs header which I cannot seem to locate and adjust. Is it possible to assign a pixel distance value to the spacing between the tabs?

(1) Is the method I used to create vertical space between the tabs and the tabs body acceptable? Will the space cause any problems? Is the space between the tabs (horizontally) and between the tabs and tab body transparent - whereby a background table image will show through these areas of space?

(2) Is the image mapping code I've integrated acceptable? Although all seems right in the preview, I am not certain it will function display and identically in all browsers.

Thanks!
Steve

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear Steve,

Well, the way to calculate this would be:

(header width+header spacing)*number of headers

Still, I did not calculate this, I just saw the remaining space and tried changing pixel by pixel (only took three trials) until I had a good result.

The spacing of the headers is controlled by the “margin” value (left and right).

Regarding the other questions:

1) Yes, this method is acceptable and you should not have issues. Another method to achieve the same thing would be to add a top margin to the Header Area CSS (this is probably a bit better). If you do not have a background set for the container, then it should be transparent.

2) Yes, the image map code you use is fully valid and I do not see a reason why it wouldn’t work in any browser.

Kostas
