I think I'm getting the hang of this!

Question 1: The link at top left that reads "Travel" - can I change the name and link in the style menu? If so I can't seem to find it.

Question 2: Do I have the option of getting rid of the "Travel" link altogether so it's just a blank space there?

Hello Rich,

Answer 1 & 2:    You need to go to Style Editor, then Areas and click on Content of the Top Area. Then you need to remove all the code except the word "Travel" or you can write anything you want to appear in the top area.

I may have misunderstood your directions. When I left "Travel" it read "Travel" in the top which I don't want. Then I decided to delete all the code, but now part of the top and bottom of the scroller are gone. Is there a way I can get it to just be a blank, grey bar? Like, just the way it normally looks, but without the big "Travel" word/link?

Hello Rich,

I am sorry if I confused you.

This is what you should do to achieve what you want.

Step 1:  Go to Style Editor -> Areas, Click on Top Area Content and delete all the code it had (or leave it empty if you already have it empty).

top area content in jquery slider

Step 2:  Click on Top Area CSS, go to the height property and set it fixed 42px;

jquery slider top area CSS properties

Then the result will be this, as you wanted it to appear:

jquery slider

How do I get the text to wrap so there is no scrolling within the panes?

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello,

I checked your page and I see that you do not have a DOCTYPE, so your page is not considered as valid HTML.

no DOCTYPE html

Please try adding this as the first line in your page to see if this fixes the problem:

<!DOCTYPE html>

Note that this may make other errors visible in your page. One such issue I noticed in my test was that your main image appeared broken:

broken main image

To fix this, add the following CSS: “display: block;”

You can either add this to the specific image:

<IMG style="display: block;" SRC="images/anniversary/images/anniversary-cars_01.gif" WIDTH=900 HEIGHT=131 ALT="">

Or if you want this for all images, you can add it to the <head> of your your HTML:

<style>img { display: block; } </style>

I understand this may be some work, but it is something you have to do anyway if you want your pages to validate and be HTML5 compliant.

Note, that if you want to avoid most of this work for now and simply fix the accordion issue, you can use an older DOCTYPE definition that will not change your page appearance, such as the following (note this also replaces the <html> tag):

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

How do I make the content of Modal Windows available to crawlers? It looks like only compiled code is available, which means Google etc won't find it.

If not, any suggestions?

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello,

This is true only if you use the “Embedded” Content source type. Instead, you can use the “Page Element” source type so that the modal takes its content from the page. This way all crawlers will also see this content.

page element modal window source type

If you want to use the modal to open external pages and especially if want various page links to open in the same modal design, then I strongly recommend using the “Make certain links/forms in page open in this window” option:

make ceratin links open in same modal window

You will find many examples and sample code for this, but if you need more help then let me know your exact needs so that I can suggest the best solution.

Is it possible for my customer to change the menu labels on the webpage?
Each customer will have different classroom names they will want to apply, and making the labels beforehand maybe impossible.

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello,

The easiest way to do this is to create a UL/LI menu. In this case you design the menu style (colors etc.) in AllWebMenus, but the menu structure and content is defined in-page using a UL/LI list.

Please have a look here:

populate menu inside the webpage

Let me know if you need more specific help.

Hi what I'm trying to do is setup Likno Web Modal with links that come in to the window from external files (as I did . These links would replace the Web Modal with another Web Modal like this if you click on one of the images below and use either

Click To View Next Project Specs
or
Click To View Previous Project Specs

I did set up the project file so that each link would have its own

Modal_Window_1
Modal_Window_2
Modal_Window_3
Modal_Window_4
etc...

but the javascript was bigger (194kb) than if I just include the html in each single Modal_Window (127kb), this does not make sense why the empty ones are bigger.
Basically I'm asking if there is a way to replace the current Modal_Window with another Modal_Window with an external file with links in that file without using The Navigation Bar and Multi-Sheet.

Any help would be great

Thanks,
Tracey

Hello,

I believe the best way to go around this is to have each project spec in a separate HTML page that will be loaded with Ajax. Then you can use the Modal Window API to call each page into the same Modal Window. This way your JS project will be around 11-12kb!

I am attaching an example project for you. Let me know if you need anything else.
