Does the Server Side API work with OpenCart?

I noticed the Unlimited Server Side API being offered as a gift for free with purchase of All Web Menus Pro. I already have licenses to All Web Menus Pro, Button Maker and Photo Frame programs. It seems silly to me to buy just the API when I could purchase AWM and get it for free, but I already have it.

Thanks!
Judy

Dear Judy,

The Server Side API is a JavaScript API that allows you to generate menus with JavaScript Code. It requires that you do some manual coding and usually the user writes PHP or ASP code that “produces” the required JavaScript code for the menu.

I just want it to be clear that it is not something that will automatically connect to your database and create the menu for you.

You can see an example with step-by-step instructions here:

Thank you so much for the information. I am familiar with the term API, so I understand I'm taking on some coding and possibly some head banging :)

I want to incorporate the menu being used on a website with its corresponding WordPress Blog and OpenCart Storefront, so I believe this is the tool I will need.

Cheers and thanks again!

Judy

Dear Kostas

I have to migrate a website (http://www.mange-mon-amour.be/ ) to another server

I have transferred all files and databases but the server side menu do not work, can you tell me where is the problem

Best regards

Dear Roland,

I see a lot of server-side errors when I “view source” in your pages. I guess you need to revisit your server-side code that builds the menu.

Things to check would be missing variables and changes in the database names etc.

Support Case Month: June 2012

Hello,
Ok, so I have created a couple of pages for you to review. This may be an issue with how I am building the Modal window, I am not using iFrame. Does that make a difference? Here are the links, please let me know what you find.
http://www.bhomes.org/a1.asp is the page that draws the links from the database.
If they load correctly you would see this page in the modal window depending on which link you clicked.
http://www.bhomes.org/a2.asp?id=1
http://www.bhomes.org/a2.asp?id=2

Thanks
Jim

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear Jim,

I checked your page and when I viewed the source code I saw this:

Error! Filename not specified.

This should be:

<a href="A2.asp?ID=1" target="Modal_Window_1">test</a>

And not:

<a href="javascript:;" onclick="window.Modal_Window_1('A2.asp?ID=1'); return false;" >test</a>

I thought this was clear in our previous emails!

I made the change in the link but it made no difference in the site. Please review again and let me know what I am doing wrong.
Thanks

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear Jim,

I just realized what was wrong…

Do you have the modal project set to “make links open in this window”?

modal windows make links open in this window

If not, please change this and change your “targets” to “Modal_Window_1_single” instead of “Modal_Window_1”.

The “Modal_Window_1” is for opening the existing (in-project) content and not what you find in pages.

This should fix everything.

You are correct that I used that setting. I will make the necessary changes and retest. I will email the results when I get a chance.

Hello,

I try to use Database-driven API on "Espace client" tab.

I would display the same information like "Paper" tab if user not registered.

The display is good but links not works and mouse can't click on it.

Thx a lot to help me to get this working.

Hello,

First of all, right after you create the item you also add a submenu to it, which is wrong (as in not required), so you can delete this second line:

submenu code

Regarding the actual problem now, it originates from the fact that this item has not been set as “HTML mode”.

To correct this, please add the following parameter to your menu item:

set menu item as HTML mode

Hello,

Thx a lot for your answer.

Now it is working.

Is it the same (;htmlMode=1) for full html mode ?

Thx again

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

This is the full html mode (there is no “text only” in the script – only “html” and “full html”).

You need full html if you want the links to work, otherwise the whole item will be clickable, pointing to the item’s URL.

Initial Email From:

Initial Email Subject: Please advise as fast as possible (database problem)
Support Case Month: December 2012

I downloaded the new version and I purchased it's license

My problem is in dynamic MYSQL menu from database

In your website in the link

http://www.likno.com/addins/dhtml-menu-serverside-example.html

this example is for submenus only but I need it to be from the first level to be from database , in the example the dynamic part starts from S4 under products

I need the level I2 and  all its lower submenu to be dynamic..

I tried to make it many times but it did not get any data… please send for me an example or steps to solve this issue

Please take a look in the green part in this print screen

main menu items - dynamic content

Please advise as fast as possible

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear John,

If you want to add more items to the main menu, then just use the main menu variable (“M0” in your screenshot).

So for example, this will add an item into the “Products” submenu:

S4.newItem('style=sub_item_style;text0=Helmets');

and this will add an item into the main menu:

M0.newItem('style=main_item_style;text0=New Main Menu Item');

I hope this helps. If you need more detailed help, I will need to know exactly what you would want your menu to show, how your DB is structured and which programming language you will be using.
