Hello Roman,

Please, add a valid DOCTYPE declaration to your page.

Go to your pages and insert as the very first line of each page the:

<!DOCTYPE html>

DOCTYPE declaration

This will solve this issue in all Internet Explorer versions.

Please, let me know how that worked for you.

Kind Regards,

Initial Email Subject: AllWebMenus build #928 on IE8
Support Case Month: January 2014

I'm new to AllWebMenus, but learning fast.  With the previous build, I was not able to view my menus in IE11, but IE8 worked fine.  Now, with build 928, the effect is exactly opposite.  My menus work great in IE11 and Firefox, but not in IE8.  One menu places all the items on one line and the other menu doesn't show at all.

The first menu is to the left of the "Product Search" box in the upper right hand corner of the referenced website.  The other menu is the navigation menu and should show in the tan horizontal bar below the "Product Search" box.

Please let me know if you have any questions, or a solution.

Thank you,
Brian

Hello Brian,

In order to correct the issue you first need to declare a valid DOCTYPE.

So, the very first line in your page should be:

<!DOCTYPE html>

valid DOCTYPE declaration

Then, you need to place the menu linking codes right after your <body> tag.

If for any reason, you are not able to place the menu linking code right after the <body> tag then go to your AllWebMenus menu projects click on Project Properties. Then, select the Menu-Linking Code in Tags and select "Yes, within tags" and then click OK.

menu linking code in tags

After you have made that change you need to re-compile your menu project and re-upload the produced files to your server.

Let me know if you need further help.

Thank you!

Hello,

I do see the modal working fine in my own IE9.

Did you fix the problem in the meantime?

Thanks, for the fast message,

No, I’ve not fixed the problem.  My IE9 don’t open the Modal window.

Kind Regards,
Rudolf

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello Rudolf,

I did some further testing and it seems that the modal does not always appear when viewing the page in “quirks mode”.

IE will enter “quirks mode” (essentially IE5.5 compatibility mode) if your page does not have a valid DOCTYPE.

Please try changing this:

<html>

To this:

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

This will allow IE9 to work in its normal mode, and it will also allow it to support CSS3 features (such as drop-shadows and rounded corners that are not supported in “quirks mode”).

Kind Regards,

Initial Email Subject:  Web Tooltips Builder - tooltips do not display
Support Case Month: September 2013

I've just installed the Tooltips Builder and created a simple test page which can be addressed from the URL above.

My aim is to add a series of tooltips to a page that will be opened when the user clicks on a help icon adjacent to the relevant field.  I've followed the procedure as illustrated on http://www.likno.com/blog/html-tooltips-website-integration-4/1288/

The tooltips do not appear at all when I click on any of the elements on the page using IE 9 64-bit.

Hello Ray,

You need to correct your DOCTYPE declaration to your page.

Please use <!DOCTYPE html> as the first line of code in your page instead of
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">

This should solve your problem.

Thank you!
