Hello,

I do see the modal working fine in my own IE9.

Did you fix the problem in the meantime?

Kind Regards,

Thanks, for the fast message,

No, I’ve not fixed the problem.  My IE9 don’t open the Modal window.

Rudolf

Hello Rudolf,

I did some further testing and it seems that the modal does not always appear when viewing the page in “quirks mode”.

IE will enter “quirks mode” (essentially IE5.5 compatibility mode) if your page does not have a valid DOCTYPE.

Please try changing this:

<html>

To this:

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

This will allow IE9 to work in its normal mode, and it will also allow it to support CSS3 features (such as drop-shadows and rounded corners that are not supported in “quirks mode”).

Kind Regards,

Support Case Month: September 2013

I've just installed the Tooltips Builder and created a simple test page which can be addressed from the URL above.

My aim is to add a series of tooltips to a page that will be opened when the user clicks on a help icon adjacent to the relevant field.  I've followed the procedure as illustrated on http://www.likno.com/blog/html-tooltips-website-integration-4/1288/

The tooltips do not appear at all when I click on any of the elements on the page using IE 9 64-bit.

Hello Ray,

You need to correct your DOCTYPE declaration to your page.

Please use <!DOCTYPE html> as the first line of code in your page instead of
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">

This should solve your problem.

Thank you!

Hello,

Can you give me some insight as to why the menu on our home page is overlapping other objects?  Again, if I put it in compatibility mode, it looks as it should.

Hello Annette,

This is because your menu is floating and the <td> where you positioned it is not tall enough to fit it. Also since you do not have a valid DOCTYPE, each browser displays this a bit differently (for example in Firefox it looks perfect).

The easiest/fastest solution is probably to make the menu change the height of its positioning element:

menu affects positioning element height

Support Case Month: August 2013

Hello

All modal windows are perfect in Mozilla Firefox, however, in Internet Explorer 8 only the (x) close button appears and nothing else. The modal window content is External (i.e. on a subdomain) Would it be possible to have a look at the web site and let me know your findings.

Many thanks in advance
Liliane

Hello Liliane,

The first problem I see it the Linking Code. The Linking Code should look like:

<!-- ******** BEGIN LIKNO WEB MODAL WINDOWS CODE FOR project name ******** --> <script type="text/javascript">var lwmwLinkedBy="LiknoWebModalWindows [1]",lwmwName="auto",lwmwBN="264";</script><script charset="UTF-8" src="likno-scripts/auto.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

<!-- ******** END LIKNO WEB MODAL WINDOWS CODE FOR project name ******** -->

And you only have

<script charset="UTF-8" src="{URL REMOVED}" type="text/javascript"></script>

I would recommend you to download and install the latest version of Likno Web Modal Windows Builder.

Then open your modal window project and re-compile it. Re-link it to your pages and re-upload the produced files.

Let me know how that worked.

Also, you may want to change your DOCTYPE to something like:

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>

Dear Aggelos,

Thank you for this quick reply.

The problem was not having the opening tag <html> at the beginning of the external page where the video is embedded.

Everything works fine now

Again, many thanks

Liliane
