Can an external link in Modal be seen in the preview? Or are the examples linking to a website you setup?

Richard

Hello Richard,

You can preview external links in Likno Web Modal Windows Builder, except those that are not allowed to open in an iframe (such as facebook.com, twitter.com etc.).

Please, let me know if you need further help.

I have the modal app mostly figured out. Works great once the paradigm is understood.

Dear Support,

Is there any way to pass the parameter (link and modal size) to modal windows if I use the same window modal for different link (Single sheet) instead of creating each mode for each external link. As for modal size, though it can be set to percentage but it does not work in IE for height in %.
Something like lytebox:

<a href="cardScan_feature.html" class="lytebox" data-lyte-options="width:96% height:100%">Click</a> for product comparison.

<a href="office2010.html" class="lytebox" data-lyte-options="width:96% height:100%">Click</a>for Office 2010 comparison.

Dear Stanley,

You can do this too, but this can only be done using the API. In this  case, it would be best to create a separate JavaScript function that accepts these parameters and opens the appropriate modal window. Here is an example of how this would work:

function openModal(url, w, h) {

    Modal_Window_1({bodySource:"<div externalUrl='"+url+"'/>",containerCss:{width:w, height:h});

}

Then this is an example of two links:

<a href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="openModal('compare1.html',500,400);">Click for product1 comparison</a>

<a href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="openModal('compare2.html',400,300);">Click for product2 comparison</a>

Is there a way to return to a specific spot on a menu (AWM) after the user has followed a link to a different page on the website?

Just wondering.  I thought I saw that somewhere.

Dear Bob,

I am not sure I understand what you mean.

Do you maybe want the menu to highlight the item corresponding to the current page, even if the user came to this page through an external link?

If so, then what you probably saw was the automatic highlight feature:

highlight menu item

Note however this feature works based on the URL seen on the browser’s Address Bar. Hence if you have pages that load inside a frame/iframe, these cannot highlight a menu item as they do not affect the URL.

Will this feature function the same way if it is a Modal window that has been opened? Or will this only work for an actual URL or Linked Page?

Bob

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

To be more precise: This will only work if the URL in the browser address bar matches the link of the menu item.

(so this is a “no” for modal windows, iframes or anything else that does not affect the address bar URL)
