I need to know how to configure the menu to only be as wide as the table the menu is laying on top of.

Thanks,
Ron

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear Ron,

I am afraid that it is not possible to automatically make the menu take the width of a given page element.

One thing you can do, is to give the menu a “minimum width” and make sure that your menu items are not so big that they make the menu wider.

main menu minimum width

If the menu is wider than what you wanted, try reducing the padding or font size.

The page displays fine on all windows desktop browsers and android os. however the third tab will not work on my ipad mini. Will not work in either the default or chrome browser on the ipad mini.

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello,

This seems to be a font issue. The fonts appear larger in iPad mini and hence the last tab does not fit!

Can you please try reducing the font size for the Headers and let me know if this resolves the problem?

(I am afraid that this is not something we can automatically control in the library, so I’m not sure if we can develop a “fix” for this)

Support Case Month: April 2013

Good Morning,

Is it possible to use a Google font for the menu? I specify Default Font in AllWebMenus however it always seems to use the font specified in by body css style. I've tried various things to override this. If I specify a font that is not on my system in AllWebMenus, the menu does not show in preview nor on the website, e.g. 'Cantarell', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif.

My question I think is, can I specify a css class that specifies the font and fonts size and weight to be used at run time.

Thanks
Robert

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear Robert,

You are indeed able to use Google fonts with AllWebMenus. To do this you need to also set replacement fonts and choose something that has the same size, because the menu will most likely be displayed before the Google font is loaded, and it will not be able to change its size again after the font is loaded.

The only thing you need to be careful about, is that you should NOT use any quotes (single or otherwise) in the font list. Please try the following for example:

Cantarell, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif

If this does not work, please send me the URL so that I can check it.

Knowledge Base support case for Likno Web Accordion Builder, abstracted and stripped of all user’s private info.

I am testing the trial version so there is no url at this point.

I'm trying to change the font size within all of the panes. Using the font-size property, i get no change in font size if I specify a font size of small or medium or whether I use 10px or 12px. The changes do show up in the preview screen in the tool but there is no effect in the browser. I am using Microsoft Web Expression as my primary web tool if that makes a difference.

Any help with this would be appreciated.

I'm a long time user of your allwebmenus product and look forward to working with this as well.

Regards,
Bill

Dear Bill,

This happens because you are using a table, which by default resets the font size when you do not have a valid DOCTYPE for your page.

Can you please try changing this:

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN">

<HTML>

With this:

<!DOCTYPE html>

<HTML>

The above is the standard DOCTYPE for HTML5. If for some reason you want to use the old HTML4 Transitional DOCTYPE, then use this instead:

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

Well almost...
I'm not much at html coding so maybe you can see what's going on.
When I sub the changes (tried both) it gives me the results that you'll see at http://ocdirect.com/staging/faq_test1.html (no menu item for this one.)
If you compare it to the normal linked faqs page you can see that the page 'breaks'
I can't seem to find where the problem is coming from.
If you have any ideas on how I can get the page back to normal, I'd appreciate it.

Regards,
Bill

Dear Bill,

I found a couple of changes that will fix the problem. The whole brake is related to the last table row, so you will need to fix it there.

Please try changing this:

<tr>

                <td height="32" width="165"><img height="32" border="0" width="165" src="images/main_5.jpg"></td>

                <td height="32" background="images/main_6.jpg" width="558">

                <p align="center"><font size="1" face="Arial" color="#F7DA8A">Copyright &copy;

                2010-2012 Woodbine Hill Kennel</font></p></td>

                <td height="32" width="224"><img height="32" border="0" width="224" src="images/main_7.jpg"></td>

</tr>

Into this:

<tr>

                <td height="32" width="165"><img style="display: block;" height="32" border="0" width="165" src="images/main_5.jpg"></td>

                <td height="32" background="images/main_6.jpg" width="558">

                <p align="center" style="margin: 0px;"><font size="1" face="Arial" color="#F7DA8A">Copyright &copy;

                2010-2012 Woodbine Hill Kennel</font></p></td>

                <td height="32" width="224"><img style="display: block;" height="32" border="0" width="224" src="images/main_7.jpg"></td>

</tr>

Note that there is also a big difference between having a valid DOCTYPE or not, especially in IE:

If you have DOCTYPE, then the “width” and “height" you set in the CSS do *not* include the padding. If you have an invalid DOCTYPE (or none at all) then the padding is most likely included in the width/height.

This is in case you see other sizing issues elsewhere.

Knowledge Base support case for Likno Web Modal Windows Builder, abstracted and stripped of all user’s private info.

Please can you help my, i have a problem with about Modal Windows Builder

I have create a new website in frames (I know oldschool ;-)

1) In Firefox there is no problem, in IE and all other browsers opens the windows white Photo's in the frame from het menu (allwebmenus)

Example: http://www.detailinbeeld.nl/cursussen/voorbeelden/index.htmlclick on de button "VOORBEELDEN"

I send you in de attachment the Modal Windows and the AllWebmenu files i use

2) How do u change the time between sheet 1 and sheet 2?

3) If i change the size from the page numbers on the navigation bar is OK when I press PREVIEW F5 but in all browsers it's to big

I hope you know what i mean, my English is not so good.

Regards from Holland

Met vriendelijke groet,

Leon

Dear Leon,

1) I checked your page and I see that the problem appears in IE8 or older. I am afraid that this is due to a security issue of older IE versions. I do not believe that it is possible to resolve this. It may help if you add a proper DOCTYPE (currently you do not have any). Please try replacing this:

<html>

With this:

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

2) Are you referring to the transition time? If so, this can be changed in the “Multi-Sheet” options:

modal windows multi sheet options

3) So, for the navigation bar, you see a different font size in the preview than in your browser? Can you please send me:

                i) a screenshot of what you see in the preview and the browser

                ii) the modal project (use “Project -> Export -> To ZIP”)

                iii) the URL so that I can check it myself

Dear Leon,

I am afraid that the frame issue cannot be resolved…

I talked to our developer team and they told me that we already have all known ways of “breaking out of frames” inside the modal library.

The only solution would be to not use frames I guess…  (in any case they are considered a very old technology and will be obsolete soon)

Regarding the font-size in the modal, I am guessing that you were changing the font-size for the “navigationBarText” class. This however only applies to the “label” and not the page numbers. To fix this, you need to also apply the font size to the “navigationBarSheetSection” class:
