Support Case Month: April 2014

Hi,

I am trying to build a page, which had a fixed header and footer. I have inserted a menu at the top, as part of the header! Perfect.

What I also want to do is have Tabs fixed at the bottom of the page and when a user clicks a tab, have the tab open upwards, instead of downwards from a header tab.

Is this possible, and if so how?

Many thanks,
Simon

Hello Simon,

First, thank you for your purchase.

I have attached a tabs project (started from Example 26) and a test page. I have set the positioning element for the tab to be fixed and stay on bottom of the page. When you click the tabs the body of the tabs open upwards.

Please, let me know if I can be of further help.

Thank you.

Hi Aggelos,

Thank you for your prompt reply, I am seemingly having a problem adding your example into a page that I am going to use as the standard for my site, do you think you could help me as far as code placement.

The example you created is exactly what I was looking for, by the way!

I have attached a copy of the page to this email…. Sorry to be such a newbie, but this is new curve I am learning!

Many thanks,
Simon

Hello Simon,

I have attached the zip containing the file and the tab project. I have placed the tabs to be inside your black container.

If you add the following CSS code:

#liknotabs_positionID{
                      position:fixed;

bottom:0;
                }

Then, the tabs will be fixed to the bottom of the window.

Please, let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you.

Two items ... I would like the background of the menu to expand all the way across the DIV so there is no white space on the right ... and I would like to make the home icon linked to the home page.

Thank you in advance for all of your help!

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello Jim,

In order to make you menu act as a menu bar relative to your DIV with an ID of "container" click on Menu Type,

Select "Yes, widen items….", "Element with ID" and insert container

Select the "Do not widen items…", Show Background at Right.

menubar settings

As for the link on home icon I am afraid this is not possible through the Main Menu Group Header (as it is right now).

However, you can achieve that result by removing the Main Menu Group Header (I guess you don't need it anymore)

Click on Style Editor -> Main Group Style -> Has Header and select No.

menu style editor

Then, select your Home main menu item in your Menu Editor, click on All Values and find the Foreground Image, select the Home icon that already exists. This way you can have that design with the home icon on home main menu item and you can also place the link to your home page in Link value.

Initial Email Subject: Web Tabs Builder - How to style Tab Header text to give 'highlighter' effect?
Support Case Month: June 2013

Dear Kostas & team

In AllWebMenus we are able to style menu items with a highlighter effect on mouseover

e.g.

Text (HTML formatting)

normal : Home

mouseover: <span style="background-color: yellow">Home</span>

mouseclick: <span style="background-color: yellow">Home</span>

This highlights just the text, and does not change the background color of the whole item.

I would like the text within the tab headers (not the whole of the tab header) in Web Tabs Builder to have the same behavior.  How can I do this?

Many thanks,
John

Hello John,

In case you need only the same highlight color in all  states of the header text then you just go to the Tabs Header Text/HTML and do the same as in AllWebMenus. (see image below)

background color in tab header

In case you need different colors in each state, I would propose you to go to Tab_1 Header Text/HTML and create a class there in <style> tags. Note that then you will be able to call this class in all items.

style tag in tab header

CSS class in tab header

Hi Aggelos

Many thanks for your rapid response.  I see what you are saying for tabs with headers and bodies populated within Web Tabs Builder.

How would your suggestion apply where the tabs are populated through DIVs?  (inside the page)

Bests,
John

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello John,

When you populate your tabs through DIVs, this means that tabs' content is inside your page. You can have the class I sent you before inside your page in <style> tags or have this in your general CSS file. Also, you can just have inline style in each tab header your want.

See the example code below:

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<style>
    .highlight{
               background-color:#FF0000;
              }

    .highlight:hover {
                      background-color:yellow;
                      }
</style>
</head>
<body>
<!-- ******** BEGIN LIKNO WEB TABS CODE FOR highlightHeaders ******** –>
<script type="text/javascript">var lwtbLinkedBy="LiknoWebTabs [1]",lwtbName="highlightHeaders",lwtbBN="220";</script><script charset="UTF-8" src="likno-scripts/highlightHeaders.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
<!-- ******** END LIKNO WEB TABS CODE FOR highlightHeaders ******** -->

<div class="liknotabs_header" style="display: none;">
    <span class="highlight">Header 1</span>
</div>
<div class="liknotabs_header" style="display: none;">
    Header 2
</div>
<div class="liknotabs_header" style="display: none;">
    <span style="background-color:#FFFFFF;">Header 3
</div>
<div class="liknotabs_body" style="display: none;">
    <p>Here is the text of the <b>first tab body</b>.</p>
     <p>Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua. Ut enim ad minim veniam, quis nostrud exercitation ullamco laboris nisi ut aliquip ex ea commodo consequat.</p>
</div>
<div class="liknotabs_body" style="display: none;">
    <p>Here is the text of the <b>second tab body</b>.</p>
     <p>Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua. Ut enim ad minim veniam, quis nostrud exercitation ullamco laboris nisi ut aliquip ex ea commodo consequat.</p>
     <p>Duis aute irure dolor in reprehenderit in voluptate velit esse cillum dolore eu fugiat nulla pariatur. Excepteur sint occaecat cupidatat non proident, sunt in culpa qui officia deserunt mollit anim id est laborum.</p>
</div>
<div class="liknotabs_body" style="display: none;">
    <p>Here is the text of the <b>third tab body</b>.</p>
     <p>Duis aute irure dolor in reprehenderit in voluptate velit esse cillum dolore eu fugiat nulla pariatur. Excepteur sint occaecat cupidatat non proident, sunt in culpa qui officia deserunt mollit anim id est laborum.</p>
</div>

</body>
</html>

And the result:

highlight text in tabs header

How to control position of navigation squares as they are actually inside header?

Matjaz

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

You can change the position using the following combo:

Navigation bar position in jquery slider

Also note that if you choose any of the “Item Area” options you can also give specific offsets (this does not apply for the options of other Areas).

I was just wondering if it is possible to have the same menu in two place on the same page, i.e. header and footer, and if so how to do it.

Thank you for your assistance,

Larry

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello Larry,

You could have the same menu in two places in the same page. All you should need to do is: Change the “Compiled Name” of the menu in the Project Properties.

Change the positioning (position one according to your header and the other according to your footer).

You should leave the folders as they are by default so that all of your menus see the same library files.

Things to note:

1) All your menus should be compiled with the same AllWebMenus version.

2) You should make sure that you properly Compiled, Linked and uploaded your second menus as you did with the first.

3) There is no limit to the number of  menus you can add this way.

Let me know if you need more information.

Thank you!
