HI Kostas,

I purchased the new version, but I am having a problem with the linking.

Is the linking any different when using DIV tags in which I gave an ID to?

Here's what I did...

I got a new menu, made all changes, told it where to store the root folder, compiled the menu, took the ID form the menu position, awmAnchor-menu and placed it in a DIV tag that I gave an ID name of nav_bar <div id="nav_bar" awmAnchor-menu></div>

The menu showed up on my page, but as soon as I added the awmAnchor-menu to my page it never came back.

Here is a link to my test site:

{URL REMOVED}

Also, I attached the menu that I saved. It's just a rough copy.

I think I did everything correctly, the only thing that sticks out is that the help files show an ID given to the awmAnchor-menu, <div id="awmAnchor-menu"> &nbsp; </div>

and I gave the DIV that I am placing the menu in and ID name of nav_bar

Should I name the DIV awmAnchor-menu, and if so where do you place the awmAnchor-menu in the DIV?

Please let me know,

Thanks Again!

Robert

Dear Robert,

The problem is indeed the ID of the DIV where you want to put the menu.

You need to do one of the following two things:

1) Leave the AllWebMenus Positioning as it is, and change the DIV in your page from:

  <div id="nav_bar" awmAnchor-menu></div>

To:

  <div id="awmAnchor-menu"></div>

OR

2) Leave the DIV in your page with its current ID (but cleanup the “awmAnchor” part):

  <div id="nav_bar" ></div>

and change the AllWebMenus Positioning to use this DIV instead:

menu positioning settings

Hi Kostas,

Thank You! Works Perfect!

I read about that but then I recall it recommended to keep it the same.

Anyway, it works!

Thanks Again!

Knowledge Base support case for Likno Web Tooltips Builder, abstracted and stripped of all user’s private info.

Initial Email Subject: Only one tooltip is shown
Support Case Month: November 2012

Dear Kostas,

Hope you are doing fine.

I have a question about tooltip builder. I tried to use it with dynamic data (like for edit/delete icons in records listing pages) but it works only on the first 2 icons (first record) of the list while for others is not showing.

How do I make it work for all? Is there any different id= code to be used?

Many thanks,
Paolo

Dear Paolo,

It would help to see the page with the problem, but I think I guessed what the problem is.

In HTML each “id” is supposed to be unique and having duplicate “ids” in a page is considered invalid. Most browsers will give this “id” to the first element and remove it from the rest, while others (like IE) will produce an error and will not work at all.

If you want to use the same tooltip in several elements, then you need to use the “class” instead of the “id”

For example:

choose class to use same tooltip

<a href="…" class="addButton">add</a>

My system crashed and I am rebuilding back and somehow my original activation code is not working.

Thanks

Hello,

If you re-installed windows then you need to get a new Activation Code as your Installation ID will also be changed. You can do this in your User Area account.

I also noticed that you are using a much older version of AllWebMenus (v4) and I wanted to let you know that there are some known issues with the latest Safari and IE browsers. You may want to consider upgrading to the latest AllWebMenus version to resolve any possible issues.

Hello,

You are amazing, I just have one bit of advice to ask is it possible to embed more than one scroller on a web page without conflict, and can I embed 3 scrollers in 3 tab pages using tab builder so each scroller would be embedded in every tab page then the tab project embedded on a page.

I tried setting up different directories but had conflicts.

Thanks again

Mohssin

Hello Mohssin,

Sure, you can have as MANY scrollers (or other likno products) on the same page as you wish.

How?

First, make sure that each project has its OWN (custom) name for its COMPILED outcome. For example, this is "project1":

web scroller project custon name

Do, the same for "project2", etc.

Then, you should make sure that you LINK ALL compiled projects to the same page (for example "project1" and "project2" and "project3", you should have 3 "linking codes" on the page, one for each).

Finally, BE CAREFUL with the positioning ID:

positioning of the web scroller

You need to have DIFFERENT IDs per project, otherwise you will have a CLASH in positioning (each scroller will be positioned on TOP of other scrollers, or not show at all, etc.).

For example, change the above to:

change positioning element ID

These are mainly the points to remember.

Hello,

All you need to do is to login to your Likno User Area account, download and install the Accordion build you are entitled to, and get a new Activation Code using the new Installation ID it will have.

Let me know if you do not recall your login details.
