Is there anything extra I can do to make the menu load faster?
How does it load for you?

Thanks, Pat...

Dear Pat,

I checked your page and I saw that the menu does take a bit of time the first time it loads, because all of your items are images and they take some time to download. After the first load, when you visit another page the menu appears instantly as the images are cached in the browser, so this is not much of a problem.

However if you want to make your menu even faster/lighter, then the solution is to keep only two background images (for normal & mouseover) and use text for your menu items.

Hi Guys,I love your programs and with the 50% discount over Christmas they became affordable. Here is an observation for you, I use your scroller at the top of {URL REMOVED} and when i put this url into facebook the images are not seen, whereas the wow program I also use are.Which makes me think the search engines are not seeing these images.

Dear Colin,

This depends on whether you have the content in your pages (i.e. using the DIVs or UL/LI options) or if you are populating the items inside the scroller project.

If you populate the items within the scroller project, then indeed the content resides in the compiled JavaScript and hence may not be readable by crawlers that skip JavaScript. If you keep the content in your page, then all crawlers will be able to see it.

scroller population methods

I am building a new site for the local Petroleum Museum using AllWeb Menus Pro 5.3.

Home page is : http://www.crspromotest.com/PetMuseumNew/index.html  (no links to other pages yet).

Menus look fine in Dreamweaver, but when I load them up to the test site (above), the images I have assigned to the menu items do not show up, though they are in the images file on the site.  (2 of the items don’t have images yet…”Museum”, and “Home”).  Somehow I don’t seem to have the images linked properly to the menu when on the site.  They are a .png file…does that make a difference??

Any ideas??  Sure would appreciate your help.

Thanks,
Ron

Dear Ron,

Where did you upload the images?

I checked online but I did not find them where they should be. For example:

http://www.crspromotest.com/PetMuseumNew/awmdata/menutop/donate.png

or for the other menu:

http://www.crspromotest.com/PetMuseumNew/awmdata/menu/contact.png

Hi,
Am I able to use your Sliding Aqua type menu ...but add my own color and images?
I want to match an existing site ...but use this type menu.
The site I want to match is the related URL.
Thanks, Pat...

Hello Pat,

You can definitely create a similar design to the one that you sent me, by changing colors and images.

If you wish, we also have a "custom menu creation service" were we create the theme of the menu that you want.

Thank you.

Hi Aris

All I would like is a simple gallery with back, forward, beginning, end, and enlarge/blow up buttons, highlights to whatever image in the gallery to show it is selected, and maybe for it to open in a modal window and an easy way to get back from there to the page with the gallery on. It would also be useful to be able to place several galleries on one page and to easily position them anywhere on the page. I just need some time to try out Scroller as it is.

Hello Mike,

Most of these features already exist there, except of the Modal Window which requires the separate Likno Web Modal Windows Builder to be utilized.

We have thought of this and we may add a simple modal window option to the Scroller too. This is the only part missing.

How would you like to populate the images to your scroller? You adding them one by one or dynamically? Can you give us your feedback on this? How you would expect to add the images to the gallery.

Thank you

Hi Aris

Thanks for the reply, I need time to play with the Scroller program before I let you know.

Hello Mike,

We have just added this option to the Scroller, so that a very simple modal window can appear showing the "Open Link (URL)" property, without you needing to have the Likno Web Modal Windows Builder:

open modal window from scroller

Please not that this feature is NOT released yet, it will be released a little later.
