Before renewing I'd like to know if I can simply install the new version of AllWebMenus and compile my "old" menu without making changes.

Reason is - the menu function I have (Version 5.2 - Build 814) is sufficient for my needs, but the menu doesn't show in IE9 without going into compatibility mode (works fine with Firefox).

But I don't want to have to work the menu totally over, since it is pretty large.

Regards,
Roland

Hello Roland,

Indeed you just need to recompile the project and re-upload the files. See all the steps below:

- Login to your Likno User Area at http://www.likno.com/userarea

- Click the "View/Manage Licenses and Plans":

view manage allwebmenus licenses and plan

- See there if your Update Plan has expired or not.

If "expired" then click the "Renew" link and renew your Update Plan.

- Download the current Version (Build) ( http://www.likno.com/download.html ) and install it.

- In your Likno User Area, click the "Get Activation Code" link and get a new Activation Code for this updated installation:

AllWebMenus

- Open your old project file (.awm) in AllWebMenus, re-compile it and then upload the new menu files (along with the "awmdata" folder) to your website.

Note that you may need to delete your browser’s Temporary Internet Files (or cache files) before refreshing the page in order to see the menu.

Thanks!

Kind Regards,

Thanks for the quick reply.

Is there also a program/update that AllWebMenus will work with Safari or similar browsers on iPhone/Smart Phones?

Regards,
Roland

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello Roland,

The latest version of AllWebMenus that you will be able to download and install, fully supports all the latest browsers (including Safari) and Smartphones (including iPhone).

So, all the menus produced by AllWebMenus will be visible and will be working as expected in all browsers in PCs, Tablets and Smartphones.

Note that in AllWebMenus you can also create responsive menus. You can create up to 4 versions that your menu can have appearing in different screen sizes.

Thank you!

Support Case Month: May 2013

Hello,

Where is the option to enable on mobile browsers like the iPhone for instance... the scrolling select wheel?  I'm finding that I would rather enable that option than try to use the buttons on the mobile devices.  I would rather use the allwebmenus on the desktop and tablet versions of the websites, then use the scroll wheel.  I don't like the way the above link looks on an iPhone.

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello again,

Regarding your question, I am afraid that we do not currently support the iPhone wheel at all. Still you could improve your menu by making sure that it at least uses up the available space! My suggestion is that you create three responsive versions:

1) for pages up to 780px, set your menu to have a minimum width of 693px;

2) for pages between 455px and 779px, set the menu to be a menubar with a right margin of 14px

3) for pages smaller than 455px, set the menu to be a menubar with two rows and a right margin of 14px

Email Subject: positioning problem with fluid grid layout
Support Case Month: May 2013

I am trying to use your product with DreamWeaver cs6 (creative cloud membership) and trying to use a fluid grid layout.  I have the menu named navigationmenu to be embedded within
<div id="navigationmenu" class="fluid"> &nbsp; </div>.
It positions within the element id correctly on a normal desktop view, however when i resize the window to simulate an iphone or ipad or android tablet (and same thing happens on these devices), the positioning "shifts" to the right.  I am experiencing the same issue with IE and Firefox as well as safari. I need help!!

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello,

It seems that you have different positioning settings in each responsive version. Please double check this and if required “clone” your Positioning settings from version 1 to the other versions:

I have recently been trying to convert my menu CSS but it doesn't seem to be working.  Which files should be at my server in order for it to operate?

Is there a way for the menu to recognize that it is viewed by a mobile phone (iphone)  (lots of traffic from safari) and then automatically be increased to the size of the screen when it is touched?

Leslie

Dear Leslie,

Regarding the CSS menu, you need to upload the compiled files and make sure that you also Link the menu again to your pages, as the Linking Code of the CSS is different than that of the JS.

The produced files are “menu.js”, “menu.css” and “awmdata” folder. (of course the names may differ depending on your menu’s “compiled name”)

Regarding resizing for iPhone, we recommend that you create a Responsive menu so that you can change its appearance according to the device screen.

I am using server side includes to bring the menu to my various pages and it has worked so far with javascript but it doesn't load with the linking for css.  The linking for css doesn't seem as complete as the linking for JavaScript.

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello,

The Linking Code for CSS is indeed smaller. This is not a problem.

However I see something else that could be the problem. It seems that you named your menu “2”. It is recommended that the compiled menu name always starts with a letter, following the programming variable conventions. Please change your compiled menu name for example to “menu2” and see if this fixed the problem. If not, please send me a URL to check your pages.
