Hi,
I just purchased Scroller and have figured out how to make my project. But when I try to Publish, it gives me the wrong paths, so I have to manually fix things in Dreamweaver.
I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, but can't figure out what.
The attached screenshots should illustrate my problem. I made a folder called "scroller" into which everything associated with the project goes, but the source for the javascript file doesn't reflect that. And I've specified the correct path in the Project Properties.
Also, where should I go for the likno_scroller_project_content? The program supplies the sample page content paths, but not the actual content paths.
I've noticed a few bugs, as well.
The help file mentions clicking on the "Compile" button, which doesn't exist. I assume it should read "Publish".
When I click "Import Images" to add more photos to my project, all of the links (URLs) I've set up for the existing photos are deleted. Very frustrating.
I found a typo on the "Sample Code" tab: It's at the bottom of the page--the tick box "sroller separators".
Thanks for your help.

Joe

Hello Joe,

First, thank you for your purchase and your feedback.

When you publish your Image based Scroller a folder "lwsc_sample_images" will be created in the Publish folder you have specified and it contains the images for your scroller items.

scroller code

So, uploading the compiled files to your server should work as expected.

file structure

For example you have the www.yourdomain.com, in order to see the index_lwsc_sample.html you need to upload the index_lwsc_sample, likno-scripts (folder) and lwsc_sample_images (folder) to your root folder so after that, opening the www.yourdomain.com/index_lwsc_sample.html should show the scroller as expected.

As for the links that are removed after your click on "Import images" to add more images, I will forward it to the development team.

Please, let me know if you need further help.

Thank you.

Just so I understand correctly (I'm slow): The folders (likno-scripts and lwsc_sample_images) need to be uploaded to our server in order to view the page locally?
Thanks for your help.

Hello Joe,

I thought you wanted to see that slider live on your server.

When, you Publish a scroller project, you see on the settings the Publish Sample Page and it is checked "Open after publishing".

publish sample jquery slider page

So, when you have published the scroller project, this page automatically opens in your default browser and you should see the scroller live.

Didn't this happen to you?

Could you export and send me your project file, so that we can have a better look at the problem.

This is what you should do to export your project into a ZIP file and then email this ZIP to us.

Thank you.

Hi --
I was trying to put the code in my page and viewing it locally. I don't want to go live with the scroller until I know it's working--and until the site is done. I have everything in a temporary folder called www.mysite.com/2012 while I design the site. Once I'm ready to go live, it will all be moved to www.mysite.com, which necessitates having relatives links for everything.
I've attached the file for you to look at, if you need to. I've also attached the page into which I have inserted the code. I wonder if that is perhaps where I went wrong.
Thank you.
Joe

Hello Joe,

With the code you have in the page you sent me when you have the page live, you should have in your public_html folder (root folder on your server) the scroller folder which contains the likno-scripts folder (that contains the JavaScript files needed for your scroller). So, the path would be {root folder}/scroller/likno-scripts

Then, you should have your images in the path {root folder}/scroller/photos/{all your scroller photos here}

jquery slider code

Please, let me know if you need further help.

I have a scroller that is interacting with a menu (not your menu) but I have found that if I change the z-index, it seems to solve my problem.  I can not seem to figure where I can change the z-index for the class "likno_scroller_container liknoscroller_container_area" which is defaulting to "3".  If I change it to "2" one of my problems is solved.

Hello Earl,

Please click here:

z-index of jQuery slider

You will find the Z-Index property there. Change that to "2". It may work but I am not sure as it depends on what the other script does too.

Thank you.

Support Case Month: May 2014

Considering the idea of having a likno scroller playing inside each likno tab and wondered what you would recommend as the best method to do this for the fastest webpage loading (if it is even possible)?

owner of both products - thanks!

Hello Beverly,

You are able to have a scrolle (jQuery slider) inside the tabs content.

I think the best way to do it is by setting both projects (Tabs and Scroller) to DIV population method:

scroller DIV population

tabs population method

Then, you need to link both projects to your page.

You need to place the scroller content code inside the tabs' content code.

I have attached a zip file containing 1 tabs project and 1 scroller project. I have placed the scroller inside the second tab. Edit the page to see the code.

Please, let me know if I can be of further help.

Hello at Likno,

today I have a presale question for "Web Scroller Builder" and Typo3.

How can I integrate your application into Typo3? Just by using HTML etc. or do you have a separate extension for Typo3?

And, which versions of Typo3 are supported (Ver 4.X or also Ver 6.X up)?

Thank you in advance for an answer...

Thomas

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello Thomas,

First, thank you for your interest in Likno Web Scroller Builder.

I am afraid we do not have a Typo3 Extension for Likno Web Scroller Builder.

If you are able to add your custom code in Typo3 then you should not have any problem adding a scroller to your page/s.

You have 4 ways to populate your scroller items.

jQuery slider populate content

Depending on the population method you have selected you need to add the appropriate code to your page.

You can see the code you need to add to your page by going to Sample Code tab.

sample code for jQuery slider

The least code you may need to add is the "Linking Code" and the "positioning code".

If you choose to populate the items through DIVs or UL/LI then you need to add more code in your page, as the actual code for the scroller items will reside in your page.

Of course, we are here to help you in any case.

Thank you.

Just purchased the scroller. How do you delete the "get started" from the slides when published.

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello Allen,

First, thank you for your purchase.

Could you please send me a screenshot so that I can understand better the issue? I cannot see any "get started" when I publish a scroller.

Thank you.

When I am publishing in a generic format for HTML, I get the get started button on the test site.

Can't figure where it is coming from.  Using Firefox/xp pro / win 7-8, same output on all.

Hello Allen,

OK, I got you….You have created a scroller strating from the Example 11 (WordPress mockup).

In order to remove that Get Started button go to Style Editor -> Areas and uncheck the Bottom Area (as this is the area that has the code for the button you see).
