Support Case Month: December 2012

Hello,

First I want to thank your help on the Mega Drop Down menu of the page in reference. However I haven't finished yet...

1. The About Us Item should have a different width than the other two, but when I do so the webpage and the preview image of the application show me the right width once and then it drops a lighter shadow to match the width of the other two menu items Go Dive and Go Pro (right now is set with the same width than the other two)

2. As you know/notice I'm working with a joomla platform and this site is going to be bilingual, thus I'm using joomfish.... usually I do have problems translating menu because I use Dynamic menu type, but this one I'm using is Static... So in order to add the AW Menu to joomfish I need an .xml file of the component... can you help me? Thanks in advance.

Hello again,

1) If you send me the menu I can check what’s wrong and tell you how to fix it.

2) I am afraid that this is not possible. If you are using a static menu, then you need to simply have a separate menu for each language. You can then use the menu component to specify in which pages each menu should appear.

Kostas

Hi Aris,

I need the menu for Arabic websites, where the submenus should open on the left side of the drop down menu.

Does your menu support this?

Regards

Frederick

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello Frederick,

We do support RTL, through this option here:

enable RTL menu support

For submenus on the LEFT side, you can choose this here:

submenu appear on the left side

I tried to do something in Russian language and your accordion doesn't recognize Russian. Is there any way to make it in Russian?

Thanks,
Sergiu

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello Sergiu,
it should work with any language as long as you use the proper
encoding. We do not have any special rules not to allow any language
inside the HTML of an accordion pane. Unless you refer to something
different? Can you give as an example or even better export the
project and send it to us?
Thank you,

We spoke a while back about using a version of AllWebMenus that could be translated into different languages. You had mentioned (although I've lost the email) something about using a 'CSS version' to accommodate that but it wasn't available yet.

1. Is this still possible?

2. And where/how do I get it to start working with it?

As always thank you for your wonderful support.

Sincerely,
Anthony

Yes, the CSS menu is available, but please remind me. Did you have a menu in a CMS (e.g. Joomla, Drupal, WordPress etc.)?

How did you want to use this?

We will actually be trying to put this menu into an ecommerce system called Interspire. My programmer seems to think that it will work.

Any thoughts?

PS - And how do I use the CSS menu? Is it already within the application somewhere or what?

Sincerely,
Anthony

Hello again,

The CSS menu is an option within AllWebMenus. Using this option, the menu will ignore any structure you have defined within the application and will instead try to build itself using a UL/LI structure in your page.

If Interspire produces a UL/LI structure, then this can be used and transformed into a menu.

ul li structure

Clicking on the question mark image will give you more info on this. Clicking on the “settings” link of the “UL/LI” feature will also give you sample code for what you need to have in your page.

Ok, I am wondering if you can help me with some honest and well thought out direction.

· Here is one of your menus created using CSS at www.govland.com. Here is a link to how Google translates it at http://goo.gl/F7ZEz.

· Here is another one of your menus created using CSS at www.securebydesign.co/index.htm. Here is a link to how Google translates it at http://goo.gl/h8rgc

You can see that styling properties get all messed up (ie. blue & purple links, or colors other than what I defined).

----------------------------------------------------

Now, I am building a new website at www.abinterfaces.com/airborne-labs-international . I hope to use your CSS menu system for both navigation bars at the top but they both must work with Google Translation and not look bad.

How do keep the styles in tact (ie. prevent default blue and purple link colors etc)?

As always, I truly appreciate any help that you can provide! You guys are the best.

PS - Here is a website that uses the feature without busting things up as an example at www.literacyforlife.org (choose 'Spanish' in button at top).

Sincerely,
Anthony

Dear Anthony,

I see that you are using the “UL/LI” method, but these are not CSS menus – they are still JS menus. I suggest that you try using CSS menus to see if this works better with Google Translate (it should):

css main menu

does your products support rtl languges like hebrew?

ilan

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear Ilan,

For AllWebMenus, you need to select this in the Project Properties:

menu rtl settings

For the other products (e.g. Modal) I guess that you have to set this in the Container CSS field.
