Good Morning,

I have some questions.

1) What is difference between a course and lessons? Can I assume lessons are incorporated within courses? Does the admin or professor create the course and does the professor create the lessons? Can a lesson stand alone?

2) What is the difference between courses, lessons, and modules?

3) In course/lesson loading what does the admin do and what does the professor do.

4) You say: Other files can be uploaded in a lesson through the Files function. Please note that text from a word file can be copied/pasted in eFront through the unit's editor.
Otherwise, word or ppt files can be uploaded in the lesson's file manager and added as links inside the unit's content, or they can be shared with the students directly.

I?m having issues with this. Is there someone I can speak to. I don?t see the share button and also can I place the files within a category?

Best Regards,

Ron

Hello Ron,

Here are the answers to the questions of yours:

1) What is difference between a course and lessons? Can I assume lessons are incorporated within courses? Does the admin or professor create the course and does the professor create the lessons? Can a lesson stand alone?

A course is consisted of many lessons. A lesson can either be available directly (standalone) or exclusively through a course.
Both administrators and professors can add new lessons and courses, but only the professors can upload content in the lessons.

http://docs.efrontlearning.net/Courses

2)  What is the difference between courses, lessons, and modules?

Same as above. To which modules do you refer? Modules can be installed in eFront to extend the core functionality.

3) In course/lesson loading what does the admin do and what does the professor do.

The admin can create the course/lesson titles, the professor is responsible for adding content.

Files may belong to a lesson only, they can not be associated with a category. You can see in the screenshot below the share button:

Thank you.

Support Case Month: October 2012

Hi, I have been a user for many years (and have also had Bit Defender for many years) and have never run into this issue when trying to download the latest version.

Is there a virus issue with the latest version? If you are sure there is not how can I download it?

BitDefender 2011

This web page has been blocked by BitDefender Antivirus Real-time Protection!

The web page blocked by BitDefender included objects that were either infected or likely to be infected with a virus. Your system has NOT been infected.

Hello,

This is definitely a false-positive as we always double-check our products with multiple antivirus products and we also submit them online to some of the most known companies (such as Symantec), so I can assure you that our files are clean. It has happened in the past however (although rarely) that an antivirus (especially free ones) has produced an alert on their heuristics scan. Note that this is not when the antivirus claims it found a virus, but when it claims that the file is “suspicious” and *may* have a virus. This is usually due to the anti-crack software we use to stop software piracy, as it is sometimes hard even for the antivirus to scan through our code.

In any case, I again assure you that our files are 100% safe. You can also check the latest online scan in virus total here:

The solution in this case is to either add the installer into your antivirus “white-list”, or to temporarily disable your antivirus during the AllWebMenus installation.

Let me know if you run into any more problems.

Dear Brian,

I just downloaded BitDefender 2013 in order to test it and see what the problem is. I found that only when clicking on the first mirror download I get this message (everything else works fine):

Bitdifender error

If this is also what you get, then you can simply go around it by selecting the “take me there anyway” link. You can also click on the “+” button (top-left) in order to do a detailed search which shows that the page is indeed trusted!  (I really do not understand why they block our page then…)

Anyway, this is mostly to let you know that we are looking into this issue with more detail and are still trying to contact BitDefender (but they do not respond) regarding their bug.

We will let you know as soon as we have a definite answer from them.

Kostas

Support Case Month: July 2012

Good Morning,

I am recently employed with {COMPANY NAME REMOVED} and have been tasked with reviewing and selecting an LMS hosting solution to house custom developed training content and user documentation for both our clients and internal staff.

We have several basic requirements at present:

1. We are interested in a hosted solution.

2. We would need to brand the site as {COMPANY NAME REMOVED} powered by likno or something to that effect.

3. We develop training content and user /technical documentation in the form word documents, PDF’s, and Adobe Captivate developed elearning content.

4. We incorporate training assessments within our courseware. It would be great if these assessments can be tracked on a user basis.

5. We would need to set up client groups OR be able to direct  client users to a specific  catalog of courseware/documentation relevant to their specific needs.

6. I would like to have an opportunity to test a generic installation with a few of our staff to review features and capabilities for at least a couple of weeks before making any decisions.  Are you amenable to this type of arrangement?

As an introductory step, please respond to this email with a contact name, phone number, and email address.

Best Regards,

Ron

Hello Ron,

First, thank you for your interest in our Likno products.

Here is our answers to your requirements:

1. We are interested in a hosted solution.

We do proved a hosted solution, see here for pricing:

http://www.elearninglms.com/hosting.php

2. We would need to brand the site as {COMPANY NAME REMOVED} powered by likno or something to that effect.

This can be possible, it may require a small fee to do so but still possible.

3. We develop training content and user /technical documentation in the form word documents, PDF’s, and Adobe Captivate developed elearning content.

This content can be shown inside the LMS.

4. We incorporate training assessments within our courseware. It would be great if these assessments can be tracked on a user basis.

Yes, this is possible in the "Enterprise" Edition.

5. We would need to set up client groups OR be able to direct  client users to a specific  catalog of courseware/documentation relevant to their specific needs.

Yes, this is also supported by the "Enterprise" Edition.

6. I would like to have an opportunity to test a generic installation with a few of our staff to review features and capabilities for at least a couple of weeks before making any decisions.  Are you amenable to this type of arrangement?

Yes, we can arrange for this by providing you a hosted Enterprise account as a TEST for 2 weeks.

Thank you.

Hello,

Thank you for your email.

Unfortunately the installation file is available only for Windows.

However, our MAC customers use third-party software for emulation, without any problems reported so far.

Here are all your options to run Windows applications on an Intel-powered Mac:

When you build a menu using AllWebMenus Pro and its Joomla add-in, you need to perform some more actions in order to make it appear in your site.

The procedure you have to follow so as to make your menu work using the Joomla add-in of AllWebMenus Pro is the following:

  1. Allocate a domain for the site you want your menu to appear. To do that you have to login to your Likno User Area account and click on the link "Allocate/Purchase Domain Licenses" under the "Server-Side Menu Add-in" option in the "AllWebMenus Add-ins" section. There you will find a form in which you will be able to allocate the appropriate domain.
  2. Reactivate your AllWebMenus Pro application. After you allocate the appropriate domain you need to reactivate your application in order to get this informed about the domain allocation.
  3. Go to Tools > Project Properties > Folders and define properly the Site_Root folder property, which is the folder you want your menu zip file to reside, after the compilation of your menu project; when you compile your menu (in step 5) a zip file will be generated. You have also to define the Compiled menu name property, which is the name of the zip file that will be generated after the compilation of your menu project (e.g. if you use the menu2 value for the Compiled menu name property the zip that will be generated will be the following awmmenu2.zip)!
  4. Setup Joomla Menu / Choose domain. You have to go to Add-ins > Joomla Menu > Setup Joomla Menu / Choose domain and choose the allocated domain from the drop down list for your menu (see Images 1,2). In image2 you will see that i choose a sample domain called likno.com.
  5. Compile your menu for this domain. You have to go to Add-ins > Joomla Menu > Compile Joomla Menu (for  domain: localost). Instead of  localhost you should see your allocated domain; see image 3 which shows you an example for the sample domain likno.com. After the compilation of your menu ,a zip file will be generated.

Image2:

Image3:

Finally you are ready to link your menu in your Joomla site. To do that you just have to Upload the compiled menu (the ZIP file mentioned above) via the Joomla administrator area. Go to "Components > AllWebMenus > Upload Compiled Menu ZIP file", select the menu (zip) file (which is in the Site_Root folder as described in step 3) and upload it. Your AllWebMenus menu has been successfully uploaded and installed. You will now be able to view the menu on your Joomla website.
