Hello,

I do see the modal working fine in my own IE9.

Did you fix the problem in the meantime?

Kind Regards,

Thanks, for the fast message,

No, I’ve not fixed the problem.  My IE9 don’t open the Modal window.

Hello Rudolf,

I did some further testing and it seems that the modal does not always appear when viewing the page in “quirks mode”.

IE will enter “quirks mode” (essentially IE5.5 compatibility mode) if your page does not have a valid DOCTYPE.

Please try changing this:

<html>

To this:

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

This will allow IE9 to work in its normal mode, and it will also allow it to support CSS3 features (such as drop-shadows and rounded corners that are not supported in “quirks mode”).

Kind Regards,

Aggelos Tsakonas

I created a menu that should bring up the page in a frame.  It works fine in IE but it does not work in Mozilla Firefox.  Is there something that I should be doing?

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello Judy,

I noticed that you have given "home" name to your frame. This is a native function of window thus it does not work on Firefox.

Please, rename your frame for example home2 and it should work.

Of course, you need to change the AllWebMenus project to show home2. Then, re-compile your menu project and re-upload all the produced files.

Thank you!

Hello,

It seems that your page has multiple positioning elements with the same ID:

multiple positioning elements in a page

This is actually considered invalid HTML and although most browsers can ignore it (by keeping only the first occurrence) the infamous Internet Explorer just gives out an error and does not work at all…

Please make sure that you only have a single positioning element in your page.

Support Case Month: April 2012

Hello Everyone,

This morning I was updating a tool tip on a website and downloaded the latest version of Likno tooltip builder.  Now the tool tip is not visible in Safari or Firefox. It works in Internet Explorer and Opera.
The Tool tip is located on an image ID in the div=ImageNavigation
around line 251 the trigger is Events.
If it is possible, can I get the previous version of the Tool Tip .EXE?  I need to get these working again
Thanks,Kevin

Dear Kevin,

Can you instead try compiling your Modal Windows with the latest Modal Windows version?

According to your online files you are using version 246.3, while the latest is 246.7. Please download this and recompile your Modal projects:

I downloaded the modal window update and it had no effect on the tool tip

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear Kevin,

Yes, the two are connected as they load some common libraries.

However, I checked your online site and I still see the old modal files.

“FellowShipSignUp.js” is from build 246.3, while “Sermons.js” is even older (from build 244.2).

Please compile both and upload the new files, as this will most likely resolve the problem.

Kostas

Hi Kostas,

may be a problem with the frame:

www.seeshaupt.de the index.htm is a frame with a link to start-page to  www.seeshaupt.de/Seeshaupt_Start1.htm.

If you call direct this page like www.seeshaupt.de/Seeshaupt_Start1.htm  the windows Modal worked fine

Hello again,

So does this resolve your problem? Or do you need to keep the frame and still make it work?

If you need the frame, did you try adding proper DOCTYPE in both your pages? (the parent page and the inner framed page)

Kostas

Hi Kostas

A lot of thanks.

Now Windows Modal worked fine with IE9.

Solution: only in the frame (e.g Index.htm) is necessary to include the Doctype.

Mit freundlichen Grüßen

Rudolf
