Hi,

Two other questions:

To show the active button on the website, which code is it to activate the “mouse click” parameter, which is defined in AllWebMenus?

Is it possible to activate the Menu Floats on Scroll. I ’ve send you the certain zip-file and the url: {URL REMOVED}

Regards,
Sabine

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello Sabine,

I guess your first question is for the topmenu. You want to show the active menu item depending on the page  which is currently selected, doesn’t you?

You need to click on Global Properties -> Show Item or Group on Appear and make the settings that best fit your needs.

show item or group on appear

As for your second question, you can make the menu floating. Click on Global Properties -> Menu Floats on Scroll and make the following Settings.

floating menu settings

After you make the changes to your projects, you need to re-compile them and re-upload the produced files to your server.

Let me know if you need more information.

Thank you!

Hi,

in my AWM is the screen below without the parameter “what if a url uses parameter”. Perhaps this is the reason for no active button?

For the second question:

My screen looks like the one you`ve send to me, but it doesn’t work.

Sabine

Hello Sabine,

What is the version of AllWebMenus you have installed? You might have an older version and by that time the feature was not available.

In order to have the menu float on scroll you need to change the Menu Genre. Select in Menu Genre the "JavaScript menu (feature-rich)" option, as shown in the screenshot below.

JavaScript menu (feature-rich)

Then, you need to have the following settings:

menu floats on scroll settings

Re-compile you project and re-upload the produced files to your server.

Thank you!

Help,

It has worked for years and the menu disappeared from the home page.

Advice please.

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello,

It seems that you moved your menu files (or HTML files) around and this confused the Linking Code (see the “src” parameter).

<!-- DO NOT MOVE! The following AllWebMenus linking code section must always
be placed right AFTER the BODY tag-->
<!-- ******** BEGIN ALLWEBMENUS CODE FOR horzmenu ******** -->
<script type="text/javascript">
var MenuLinkedBy="AllWebMenus [4]",awmMenuName="horzmenu",awmBN="904";
</script>
<script charset="UTF-8" src="{MENU.JS PATH}" type="text/javascript">
</script>
<script type="text/javascript">awmBuildMenu();</script>
<!-- ******** END ALLWEBMENUS CODE FOR horzmenu ******** -->

Please make sure that your menu files are properly located locally and that your Root Folder setting is correct:

menu site root folder settings

If asked to “update the links”, do *not* do this as it will probably mess things up.

Then re-Compile and re-Link your menu to your pages and upload them again.

The Linking Code should now look more like this:

<!-- DO NOT MOVE! The following AllWebMenus linking code section must always
be placed right AFTER the BODY tag-->
<!-- ******** BEGIN ALLWEBMENUS CODE FOR horzmenu ******** -->
<script type="text/javascript">
var MenuLinkedBy="AllWebMenus [4]",awmMenuName="horzmenu",awmBN="904";
</script>
<script charset="UTF-8" src="/horzmenu.js" type="text/javascript">
</script>
<script type="text/javascript">awmBuildMenu();</script>
<!-- ******** END ALLWEBMENUS CODE FOR horzmenu ******** -->

Note that once you fix this, then every time you change something in the menu you only need to Compile and upload the menu files (“horzmenu.js” and “awmdata” folder). You do *not* need to Link and upload your pages.

Best Regards,

Kostas

Support Case Month: November 2012

Dear Kostas,

Hope you are doing fine.

I have a question about modal builder. For an application I am making I need to show a modal while a form is submitted and files are uploading (modal for wait text) and then it should automatically close when the save is done. How do I do that? I mean is there any specific parameter I have to use??

Many thanks in advance,
Paolo

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear Paolo,

You can do this through using the Modal API.

You can open the modal at any time calling it by name (as a JavaScript function), for example:

Modal_Window_1();

And you can close it by calling the project compile name, for example:

likno_modal_project.close();

Kostas

Dear Likno,

I have a problem. My menu is hidden under the web order form. I tried my best to make it appear on top of the web forms in vain.

How can I go over it?

Charles

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear Charles,

What type of form is this? Is it HTML or Flash? I suggest that you have a look at the following info:

menu z-index property

If you still cannot resolve the problem, please send me the URL so that I can have a look.

Dear Kostas,

The form is Flash designed with Coffee Cup Web Form Builder. Incidentally, I am still finalizing my site so that I can upload it. You can only view after uploading. But I thought you could give me some hints about what could be the problem so that I can sort it out before I finally upload it.

Best regards,

Charles

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear Charles,

The hint is the screenshot I gave you, but I was not sure that your form was flash. If you click on the “click here” link of the z-index property, you will read detailed information on how to fix this.

Specifically you will need to add the “wmode=transparent” parameter in a couple of places in your flash code. Please read this and let me know if you have more specific questions:

Reply From: Charles

Hi Kostas,

Yes, I have added the "wmode=transparent" parameter only in files where the menu was displaying behind the web forms and the menu started displaying well. But I left out other files with web forms which didn't have the same problem because the forms were not located close to the menu. I wonder whether I have to do the same throughout to all the forms even where there is no problem. Please clarify me on that. Otherwise so far so good. Thanks a lot for your support and good cooperation.

Best regards,

Charles

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear Charles,

Well, if there is no problem in the other pages, then you do not have to add this parameter. However, it will not do any harm if you do add it. So if you want your code to be consistent (for example to avoid possible copy-paste traps in the future) you can add the "transparent" parameter in all your flash codes.

Kostas

Sorry, cant figure this out. My menu is below my SWF object. I read about this on your site and setting the parameter but it really doesn't show how to do this in my application.
