I hope you can answer the following. I like keeping the html pages on a separate folder and the scroller components on a different folder (not everything together). I just published a web scroller and I copied and pasted the generated code to the page in which I like the scroller to show and I modified the src to the location of the .js and I also modified the location of the pictures but still not working. I guess I need to make changes to the .js file?

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello Jose,

There should not be any problem with that. You could move the likno-scripts folder or your HTML pages and then change in the Linking Code the src to point to the project.js file.

Could you send me a URL so I can check what is missing or your folder/files as a ZIP?

Thank you.

Kind Regards,

Hi,
I just purchased Scroller and have figured out how to make my project. But when I try to Publish, it gives me the wrong paths, so I have to manually fix things in Dreamweaver.
I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, but can't figure out what.
The attached screenshots should illustrate my problem. I made a folder called "scroller" into which everything associated with the project goes, but the source for the javascript file doesn't reflect that. And I've specified the correct path in the Project Properties.
Also, where should I go for the likno_scroller_project_content? The program supplies the sample page content paths, but not the actual content paths.
I've noticed a few bugs, as well.
The help file mentions clicking on the "Compile" button, which doesn't exist. I assume it should read "Publish".
When I click "Import Images" to add more photos to my project, all of the links (URLs) I've set up for the existing photos are deleted. Very frustrating.
I found a typo on the "Sample Code" tab: It's at the bottom of the page--the tick box "sroller separators".
Thanks for your help.

Joe

Hello Joe,

First, thank you for your purchase and your feedback.

When you publish your Image based Scroller a folder "lwsc_sample_images" will be created in the Publish folder you have specified and it contains the images for your scroller items.

scroller code

So, uploading the compiled files to your server should work as expected.

file structure

For example you have the www.yourdomain.com, in order to see the index_lwsc_sample.html you need to upload the index_lwsc_sample, likno-scripts (folder) and lwsc_sample_images (folder) to your root folder so after that, opening the www.yourdomain.com/index_lwsc_sample.html should show the scroller as expected.

As for the links that are removed after your click on "Import images" to add more images, I will forward it to the development team.

Please, let me know if you need further help.

Thank you.

Just so I understand correctly (I'm slow): The folders (likno-scripts and lwsc_sample_images) need to be uploaded to our server in order to view the page locally?
Thanks for your help.

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello Joe,

I thought you wanted to see that slider live on your server.

When, you Publish a scroller project, you see on the settings the Publish Sample Page and it is checked "Open after publishing".

publish sample jquery slider page

So, when you have published the scroller project, this page automatically opens in your default browser and you should see the scroller live.

Didn't this happen to you?

Could you export and send me your project file, so that we can have a better look at the problem.

This is what you should do to export your project into a ZIP file and then email this ZIP to us.

Thank you.

Hi --
I was trying to put the code in my page and viewing it locally. I don't want to go live with the scroller until I know it's working--and until the site is done. I have everything in a temporary folder called www.mysite.com/2012 while I design the site. Once I'm ready to go live, it will all be moved to www.mysite.com, which necessitates having relatives links for everything.
I've attached the file for you to look at, if you need to. I've also attached the page into which I have inserted the code. I wonder if that is perhaps where I went wrong.
Thank you.
Joe

Hello Joe,

With the code you have in the page you sent me when you have the page live, you should have in your public_html folder (root folder on your server) the scroller folder which contains the likno-scripts folder (that contains the JavaScript files needed for your scroller). So, the path would be {root folder}/scroller/likno-scripts

Then, you should have your images in the path {root folder}/scroller/photos/{all your scroller photos here}

jquery slider code

The accordion won't appear.  Did the same thing as before.

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello Mike,

According to the accordion:

1. Although you have linked the project to your page, you haven't uploaded the .js files on your server:

accordion compiled javascript file

Please, upload all the produced files after you compiled the accordion project, to your server in the path shown in the screenshot above.

2. You have an error in your positioning element in your page:

accordion positioning element

Please, you need to correct that.

It should be: <div id="liknoaccordion_positionID"> &nbsp; </div>

Let me know if you need more information.

Thank you!

Getting this error when trying to compile for a second time.Created a menu and it compiled fine the first time.  Now on subsequent tries I get the File/Path Access error...as if I don't have permissions to overwrite those files that AllWebMenu 5 Pro created. I am and admin and created this folder in subfolder off my Documents folder. Not using any editor/plugin as I'm using Komodo for html editing.I can delete other files in this folder just not the menu files.Running Windows 8. Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello,

Did you try deleting the files manually? If you are not able to do this, then it means that you indeed do not have enough permissions. Then only reason I can think of (and this is far-fetched) is this:

You installed AllWebMenus and run is straight from the installer, so it run “as administrator”. Now you are logged in as a user with super-user (but not real admin) permissions and you cannot remove the files of another user (the admin). I recommend that you try running AllWebMenus “as administrator” and see if can then overwrite the files it created.

Please let me know how this worked out.

I did try and delete them manually...no go.

I decided to just duplicate my website folder and compile new into that.

It worked and more importantly it worked when I did a second compile...no error.

So not sure what the deal was with that one folder/files but hopefully I'm okay now.

Thanks

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello again,

I am glad everything works in the new folder.

Regarding the old folder, you can try opening a Windows Explorer “as administrator” and using this to delete it.

Let me know if you run into any more problems.

Support Case Month: June 2012

I have gotten one modal window project to work fine. It did take some work, though.

This one simply will not.

Using a sample modal Window.  Compile. Link. Click the link on the created page in a browser and a new window opens but not the modal window. Will not work locally or at at the qualified host.

I love your products but this one stumps me! Thank you for any ideas!!!

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello,

I checked your test page and it seems that the Linking Code has the wrong path!

It points to a URL that gives a “page not found” error, hence the modal library is never loaded and the link does not work.

Please check the “src” path in the Linking Code and make sure it points to where the uploaded files really are.

Thank you. Figured it out. Had to do with my directory naming in Win 7. Funny but I guess Modal Windows could not work its way around "#" or spaces in my folder names.  Others seem to.
