How do I add google analytics to a website? Running latest version 5 and build.

would like to track the PDF pages downloaded for the site.

Thanks,
Allen

Hello Allen,

Google Analytics is not related to AllWebMenus.

You need to sign in analytics.google.com for an account. Then, add your website you want to track and this will give you a JavaScript code to add to your page.

Then, you will be able to see statistics for your pages.

Is this what you were looking for or you may refer to Google Sitemaps?

Thank you!

Thanks for your prompt response.  When you click on the menu button on any topic, the program goes directly to a downloadable PDF page.  Google analytics is not reporting the page that was clicked, since it is a PDF page, not an HTML page, when rendered.  So no report is available.

Can I add the unique Google JavaScript code, to the action section of the button JavaScript Command area to the click state, and have when the button is clicked, report back to Google Analytics?

Not sure how this works, is why I am asking, since this website has only 2 HTML pages, and the rest are PDF driven from menu buttons, to view only and download, with no HTML.

Allen

Hello Allen,

Please, take a look on this: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1136922?hl=en

So, I think adding the code for the Google Analytics as shown below it might work. Would you like to give it a try?

Hi,

i have a Problem with your AllWebMenu. It works great, but if i use an iframe to show
PDF in my website, the Submenu is in the background. Is there any workaround?

Thanks

Best Regards,
Rene

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello Rene,

I am afraid that this is not possible. The PDF files (as well as Word or Excel files) are using plugins that fully take over the browser and there is no way to show anything on top of them.

The only thing that could work (but I am not sure if it is cross-browser) is if you did not have frames, and instead you used a single HTML page with an iframe in the place of the bottom frame.

Thank you!

Hi,

it seems to be a problem in Internet Explorer! In Firefox and Chrome it is running fine!

Hello Kostas,

How do I exactly use a menu dynamically, I mean populating it from database driven data? Also dynamically it can manage unlimited items/subitems or is there any restriction?

Many thanks for your very good support!

Paolo

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello Paolo,

You need to use the "Server-Side Menus API":

http://www.likno.com/addins/dhtml-menu-serverside.html

Read the Help PDF (link there) for how to use it.

Please note that it is for advanced users and no implementation support can be given for free (because it requires programming focus, etc.)

We have no restriction on the number of items, unless the browser has problems with too many items.

One more question on this. Sometimes we want to have PDFs showing up in the lower frame and of course we then still want the submenus to overlap the pdf. How do I do that? I tried to create a link directly to the PDF but  that did not work.

Please advise.

Best Regards,
Clas

On the page given, you can see that the menu will appear under the PDF document, which is generated via javascript.  How can I make the menu appear on-top of the PDF document?

I have the z-index of the menu set to 9999 and the Div containing the PDF set to 1.

Thanks for any assistance.

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear Rick,

The reason is that these files have special plugins that fully take over the part of the browser where they appear and ignore the z-index.

Nonetheless, we have developed a special fix for IE6 that seems to also work in this case. Please go to the Project Properties in the “Optimization” section and select the “iframe fix”:

menu properties, iframe fix

If this does not work, please let me know and also export and send me your menu project so that I can run some more tests:

export menu project
