Hi Kostas,
I am pleased with the scroller that’s currently on {URL REMOVED} but need to change it from internal assets to an external xml file.
I have looked through your help section but can’t find anything that gives me any information on how to construct the xml file.
As you will see the scroller is used by an Estate Agent, so, being currently based on internal assets I have to continually amend the individual details of the frequently changing properties. I would like to automate this process, so I would guess that an xml file is the way to go.
I could perhaps arrange for an xml file to be constructed from the property database that the Estate Agent uses. The problem is that I don’t know how to write the xml file so that the scroller will display the information correctly. If I could see an example of an xml file, perhaps one that would give us a scroller that looks like the current one on the website with just 2 or 3 properties, I can then see what we need to do.
Are you able to help?
Kind regards,
Alec

Dear Alec,
I believe the best way to go would be to use the “DIVs” population method:

This way you will have the actual content inside your page, which will enhance SEO, and you can still generate it dynamically from a database.
If you go to your current project, change it to “DIVs” and go to the Sample Code tab (F4) you will see exactly what you need to add into your page for this to work.
Let me know if you need any specific help with the implementation.
Best Regards,
Kostas

Dear Support,
The menu on my domain http://www.copyrighthouse.co.uk works well on all browsers, except IE9. I have got version 9.0.8.
Please let me know what to do.
Thank you,
Jan

Dear Jan,
It seems that you used the same ID for both the population ULLI and the Positioning. This is not recommended as every ID should be unique in an HTML document.

Please change one of the IDs (in AWM and in the page) to fix the problem.
Regards,
Kostas

Hello,
I have been looking at the Scroller. I see on the features page that this is listed: Add dynamic content (database-driven or programmable) to your scrollers. Could you please tell me where to find this subject in the Scroller Help section, or explain to me how it relates to what I would do, or show me an example? Thank you.
John

Hello,
This is actually related to the DIV and UL/LI population methods, because you can programmatically show different DIVs or UL/LI elements when loading the page, based on parameters (from database or not) etc.

You will find more info on the specifications of these options in the Help section here:

Note that you can dynamically change the content of the scroller on a "server-side" basis, not "client-side". This means that you can show different aspects of the scroller (in terms of content) upon loading the page from the server, not afterwards.

Knowledge Base support case for Likno Web Tabs Builder, abstracted and stripped of all user’s private info.

Hi again,
If I’m creating this tab in the web tabs builder and then linking to it in my web page, what is the effect on SEO? Is the content that I put into the tabs container available to the crawlers? Ultimately I want the content to help my SEO ranking for that page so if it’s not available to the search engines I can’t use it.
If it is not available is there a way to use this tool so that the information IS available to search engines?

Hello again,
If you define the content within the application, then it may not be visible to most crawlers as they are not capable of parsing JavaScript files.
You do however have the option of keeping the content in your page using either the “UL/LI” or the “DIVs” population method.
With these methods you define the Tab control “look & feel” within the application, but you define the actual content in your page and it is visible to all crawlers and search engines.
For instructions on how to do this:
1) open your project
2) change the population method to “UL/LI” or “DIVs”
3) go to the “Sample Code” tab (F4)
4) check the “code that populates tabs” in the bottom to highlight the population code you need to add to your page
(you can simply copy-paste this to your page)
