Hi,

I have looked everywhere that i can think off, but cannot find the style to correct this problem.

When I initially go to this page, the tabs menu looks correct. As I click across the menu (Description > Features > Contact Us), the menu works as planned.

However, if I next click on Description, the body copy moves up to the edge of the top margin of the body graphic and will not return, unless the page is reset.

I also can correct the problem by finding the code using Firebug and changing the "positioning" style from "Relative" to "Absolute" (see below).

<li class="liknotabs_body" style="width: 700px; position: relative; top: 0px; left: 0px; display: block; overflow: visible; height: 295px; padding-top: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px;">

However, I cannot find the place in the Tabs menu application to make this change.

Please advise.

Thanks,
John

Dear John,

It seems that this issue is caused by the way that browsers understand margin. Specifically, the problem is that margins need some kind of “wall” to push against, otherwise they are ignored.

If for example you add a 1px padding-top to your <div class="synecomm"> and remove the margin-top, you will get the result you wanted, because the 15px margin of the inner elements will work against this padding.

If you need more help, please export and send me the tabs project and I will do this for you.

How can I add the tag: id="awmAnchor-menu" to a CSS file?
As you can see the menu in my URL scrolls, when it should be in the gray area.
I'm using some new code to keep the top header at the top, and want the menu up there to.

Thanks ...need some magic :-)

Dear Pat,

Please try the following Positioning:

menu positioning properties

Also, you should set the menu to “float on scroll”:

Initial Email Subject: menu isn't showing up on internal pages
Support Case Month: November 2012

Hello,

I just started developing a website and finished the menu in your application. However, the menu only appears on the home page. I cannot get it to display on any other pages.

I tried creating two menu projects (even though everything is exactly the same), but it still doesn't work.

What's the problem?

Thanks,
Susan

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear Susan,

Actually the problem is pretty simple… you have set your menu to be positioned Relative to Image “index_02.gif”. This image only exists in your homepage!

I other pages I see that this black line is called “internal_02.gif”. I suggest that you also name it that in the homepage (and make sure it is the same in all pages), or that you position your menu relative to the “index_01.gif” image (the logo) which seems to be present in all pages. If you choose the last option, you should attach the “top-left” side of the menu to the “bottom-left” side of the image.

Initial Email Subject: 404 errors after compiling
Support Case Month: July 2012

When compiling the menu for site www.bucband.org I am receiving 404 errors when selecting one of the menu picks.  Before compiling I set the Site Root to C:\\Users\\MikePC\\Documents\\My Webs\\bucband .  Now when I compile the menu and copy the menu2.js file up to the domain host, I end up getting 404 errors.  When I select a menu link, instead of getting (for example) http://www.bucband.org/boosters/overview.htm , I get instead:
http://www.bucband.org/Mike/Documents/My%20Webs/bucband/boosters/overview.htm .  When I revert back to a previously generated menu I don't get this problem.

Appears that there is a relative versus absolute referencing problem here.  Can you suggest a solution ?

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello,

When you changed the Site Root, you were asked if you wanted to “correct” the links. You pressed yes, and the application assumed that the Site Root was also changed online, which was not true I guess.

Currently your links point to the wrong direction. For example your “announcements” link points to:

../../../../Mike/Documents/My Webs/bucband/upload/announcements.shtml

When it should be pointing to:

/upload/announcements.shtml

You need to correct this in AllWebMenus. If you have a copy saved before the Root Folder change, it would save you some time. Note that you may also find such an automatic backup under:

"c:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\Likno Software\AllWebMenus\AutoBackup\.."

Alternatively, I would suggest that you use the “External Multi Editing” tool in order to mass-edit your links in Excel and save time.

Initial Email Subject: IE9 and IE8 not positioning correctly (continued) ... I did more testing
Support Case Month: August 2012

See my previous support ticket, nothing has changed but -I created a test site so that I could rule out other variables in css or html code.  The Menu is not positioning correctly with IE9, IE8 and IE8 compatibility mode but looks fine in Chrome or Firefox..  I have the newest version of AllWebMenus.
Thanks,
Patti

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear Patti,

I checked your test site and the positioning problem is caused by a rule in your CSS file. Specifically, you are giving the <body> a “position: relative;” which is not required in any way.

Removing this will fix the positioning issue in IE.

Hi Kostas,

Anyway I also thought I had tested everything deleting the css and using it from a previous site that was working but I guess not.  Your company has always been good to me and I checked your knowledgebase and did not find this issue.

So thank you very much for your help,

Patti
