Support Case Month: January 2013

Hi

I am using AllWebMenu V.5.3 Build#898, I built a CSS menu in order to meet the WCAG (Web accessibility) requirement, I tried to use the "Tab" key to access the menu, but can only access the first layer menu, unable to reach the submenus, I tried to use "<tabindex=x>" in the menu html file, but still no help, please suggest how to modify the menu so that I can access the submenu by using the "Tab" key.

Regards
Kim

Hello Kim,

Did you use the arrow keys after you entered the menu with the "Tab" key? The arrow keys should be the ones that let you navigate in submenus and all items.

Hi Aris

Yes, it works fine by using "Tab" and then arrow to access the menu, but under the requirement of WCAG 2.0, I can only use "Tab" to access the menu, which is the requirement form our Government Standard, for example, the following CSS menu can be fully access by "Tab" key only

Any suggestion how to do like this? Thank you in advance.

Hello Kim,

Tomorrow the developer that is in charge of this feature will give me an answer and I will be able to give you an answer too if it is possible to develop the "Tab" functionality under the "Feature Rush" service. In this case, there is a small fee of around {PRICE REMOVED}so that we develop it IMMEDIATELY if you wish so.

What is the "Feature Rush" service:

We have a "feature rush" service which some users prefer to purchase so that they see a non-priority feature be implemented ASAP (gets first in the queue) and have it very soon inside the application.

This is how it works:

We split the cost of research & development required for the particular feature, and start researching it immediately (rather than later).

If we cannot find a solution to the problem/feature within 10 working days since purchase (for this particular feature), we will refund you the entire amount (full refund).

Let me know if you are interested in this.

Kostas

Dear Kim,

We have just uploaded a new release (build 902.2) which supports fully browsing a menu using the “Tab” key.

Here is a screenshot of the new feature:

Initial Email Subject: Likno Scroller Problem
Support Case Month: July 2012

Hello Kostas,

After I finished with the Likno Accordion I continued to make then a Likno Scroller. I then implemented the code into my web page but after saving all I see is the outside blue border of the scroller (see pic below). I have also attached my project for you to look at.

I have gone over my code several times but I just cannot find the problem. Can you have a look please?

Thank you for your help.

Regards,

Michael

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear Michael,

I checked your page and it seems that the required Scroller compiled files do not exist online (at least not where they are expected).

Please make sure that you have uploaded all the compiled files to the correct location. According to your Linking Code in this specific page, the main compiled file is expected at:

http://www.ejam.co/category/832/Kitchen,-Dining-and-Bar/listings/501/likno-scripts-scroller/likno_scroller_project.js

(the rest should be in the same folder, unless you specified otherwise in the “folder” properties)

NOTE: We have released a new version today, which resolves several issues with the scroller dimensions, so I *strongly* recommend downloading this now (depending on your settings, it may change the appearance of your scroller).

Hello Kostas,

Ok, I downloaded the new version and updated the code. As you can see from the pic the border has now the correct width but still no content.

So, it is finding the location of the files but only showing one line which is the outside border…??? Something in the scroller program?? Not sure why it is only showing one element of the scroller (if it was not finding the compiled files then it would not show the outside border?)…??

Dear Michael,

It seems that the problem was in the population code you used. However this was not your fault! The generated sample code in the application had some problems which we have now corrected.

We have found this problem and corrected it.

Dear Michael,

We have uploaded a new release which should fix the problem.

Please download the latest version of Likno Web Scroller Builder again (even if you think you have the same version) and recompile your project(s).

I checked your page, and it seems that you did not upload the compiled file again. (or did you remove it in the meantime?)

Hello,

Yes I deleted everything and started fresh, after a few attempts I did get it to work as you can see at the bottom

Of all “auction” pages. I wanted to have the scroller on my home page but it would not work together on the

Same page as the Accordion Scroller. So I had to remove it and put it on another page…

The menu seems to work fine in IE, Chrome, and firefox. But for some reason will not show up in Safari.

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello,

This happens because your menu is compiled with a much older version that did not support Safari 5.

Please download the latest version from your Likno User Area account  (and if required, also get a new Activation Code):

download latest release of AllWebMenus

Then please recompile ALL your menu projects, and upload the new compiled files (including the “awmdata” folder).

Support Case Month: October 2012

I had to format the hard disk and lost the allwebmenu program that I had installed, since I use it very sparingly in fact I don’t even use the glide function any more   I wonder if I have to purchase it again  (I am not interested at the later release) and in such case how much do I have to pay?

Thanks, regards
Dora

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello Dora,

While you could still use the old version we urge you NOT to do this because that old version supports browser versions up to August 2010. This means that you will have issues with latest browser releases.

You need to update/upgrade your AllWebMenus and re-compile/re-upload your menu files, as the *old* compiled menu cannot support the latest browsers and standards. Some browser versions did not even exist by that time (e.g. IE9 was officially released in March 2011).

NOTE: You may also CHANGE your EMAIL ADDRESS there to your new one.

- Click the "View/Manage Licenses and Plans":

license and plans

- See there if your Update Plan has expired or not.

If "expired" then click the "Renew" link and renew your Update Plan.

- Download the current Version (Build) ( http://www.likno.com/download.html ) and install it.

- In your Likno User Area, click the "Get Activation Code" link and get a new Activation Code for this updated installation:

get activation code

- Open your old project file (.awm) in AllWebMenus, re-compile it and then upload the new menu files (along with the "awmdata" folder) to your website.

Note that you may need to delete your browser’s Temporary Internet Files (or cache files) before refreshing the page in order to see the menu.

Thanks!

December 6th, 2012AWM: Update Plan error

Knowledge Base support case for AllWebMenus, abstracted and stripped of all user’s private info.

Initial Email From:

Initial Email Subject: AllWeMenus Update 898 -- Update Plan Error
Support Case Month: October 2012

I downloaded and installed the latest update (build #898) to AllWebMenus today. I executed the program, and was told that the program was not activated and my update plan expired August 23, 2012.  Two issues
1) the previous release was activated – why was the activation dropped when I installed the new release?,  and
2) I verified that my update plan does not really expire until August 23, 2013 – so why does the new update think it expired in 2012?

I’m working on a new website the weekend and need to activate it as soon as possible. Please fix ASAP.

Thanks,

Bob

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello Bob,

I see that you renewed your Update Plan on 28 June 2012, because your Update Plan was due to expire on August 23, 2012. This is why your *renewed* Update Plan now expired on August 23, 2013, instead of 2012.

But in order for this change to take effect into the AllWebMenus installation you should have also taken a new Activation Code from your Likno User Area account and enter it inside the application.

Did you get a new Activation Code *after* you renewed your Update? I believe not and this is why you are still seeing messages related to the old status of your installed license.

So, please just get a new Activation Code, enter it in AllWebMenus and everything will be OK and working.

Thank you.

Thanks, that worked. I’m still confused because normally I do not have to reactivate after an update – I only recall one time and then your update page said that I needed to reactivate. No problem, if I encounter that same situation again I’ll just reactivate.

Bob
