It worked after I uploaded the expression web add on.  The scroller does not appear in the page, I only get an error message.

Hello Bill,

In your project you have set that you are using for your scroller population a div with a class ="Widget-Realtor-Big_content"

jquery slider scroller class name

But in your page you have no div with such a class.

jquery slider scroller class name

That's why you get the error.

In order to correct that, just grab the sample code from your project and paste it into your page.

jquery slider scroller sample code

Thank you!

I am unable to use cut and paste hot keys or menu commands in Web Scroller,  for example when I want to paste in a link to a website, I am unable to do so.

Hello Steve,

Is there any chance that you have the Webroot Secure Anywhere software?

Thank you!

Hello Steve,

This is what another customer of us reported:

Found the problem, it wasn't your software.

I have Webroot Secure Anywhere running (launches with windows) and this was preventing pasting.

Below is the solution I found - should you encounter similar issues from someone else.

The symptoms you are experiencing are related to the Identity Shield functionality, which is explicitly made to block access to certain functionality such as the screen contents and clipboard in some cases.  There are a few possibilities on what is occurring in this specific one. I make the assumption, though possibly inaccurately, that a browser is running while this symptom occurs. If no browser is running at all and this continues to happen, contact support immediately for diagnostics gathering and escalation.

Go to the Identity & Privacy tab and click "View/Edit Protected Applications"

- Is the DB program or any part of it listed under "Deny"?  If so, change it to "Allow".

- Review the "Deny" list.  Any program that you explicitly trust that is set to "Deny" may be changed to "Allow" safely.

Please, let me know how that worked for you.

Thank you!

Hello,

Another question: Can I make the scroller start "scrolling" as soon as the page loads? I saw in Style Editor: Behavior, Loop, Continuous? But I don't think I'm doing something right.

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello Rich,

In order to have your scroller play on page load, you should do the following:

Go to Style Editor tab and check on Page Load (automatically)

jquery scroller slider scrolls on page load

Then, re-compile and re-upload the produced files.

Thank you!

I think I'm getting the hang of this!

Question 1: The link at top left that reads "Travel" - can I change the name and link in the style menu? If so I can't seem to find it.

Question 2: Do I have the option of getting rid of the "Travel" link altogether so it's just a blank space there?

Rich

Hello Rich,

Answer 1 & 2:    You need to go to Style Editor, then Areas and click on Content of the Top Area. Then you need to remove all the code except the word "Travel" or you can write anything you want to appear in the top area.

I may have misunderstood your directions. When I left "Travel" it read "Travel" in the top which I don't want. Then I decided to delete all the code, but now part of the top and bottom of the scroller are gone. Is there a way I can get it to just be a blank, grey bar? Like, just the way it normally looks, but without the big "Travel" word/link?

Hello Rich,

I am sorry if I confused you.

This is what you should do to achieve what you want.

Step 1:  Go to Style Editor -> Areas, Click on Top Area Content and delete all the code it had (or leave it empty if you already have it empty).

top area content in jquery slider

Step 2:  Click on Top Area CSS, go to the height property and set it fixed 42px;

jquery slider top area CSS properties

Then the result will be this, as you wanted it to appear:

Let me know if you need more information.

Oops!  Forgot to ask a scroller question - is there a limit on the number of items that can be included in the scroller?  I expect to have the images on the host server and included on the page.

For the BBC mock up style, is this considered a generic type?  I assume so - the photo can be a link to the particular element or page, and the text can be input as required, right?

Sorry about all the "dumb" questions - I am pretty green - have worked with html about 15+ years ago but it's a different ball of wax these days so not only am I getting up to speed on the things I knew but forgot but there is so much new and now considered "standard".

Hello Linda,

There is not limit on the items that you can have in a Scroller.

The Example 12 (BBC mockup) was created as a generic type because it has a lot more than just images and info text. You can see it though as in image slider, just go to this example and then click on Image Scroller, go to preview to check how it looks.

image scroller - image slider

Note, that you can change it to meet your criteria.

You can have a links to Image Slider:

scroller item link

And also have the Info Text as you require it.

Let me know If you need more clarification.

Thank you!
