Have a customer complaining that they can only see their menu on some of the machines using different browsers. There seems to be no common browser.  Might work on IE8 on one machine and not on another IE8.

I cant duplicate on any machine but I know the customer is telling the truth.

I have the latest updates and recompiled and uploaded.

Dear Rich,

I checked your page with several browsers in different machines, and the menu is always visible!

Can you ask your customer for more info?

1) Does the menu stop working in specific pages or in all of the site?

2) Is it possible that the customer has disabled JavaScript in this specific browser where the menu does not show?

3) Is it possible to send us a screenshot of the “about box” of the browser that does not work? Also please tell us which version/edition/language of windows the browser is running on.

Regards,
Kostas

I am trying to get the rest of the info.

Here is a screenshot from a IE9 machine.

The background is missing. You can see a drop which is part of the menu.

Once I removed the allwebmenu script from the page the customer is able to see a normal page with background but menu of course is gone.

menu has disappeared

Thank you for the screenshot. Unfortunately I was not able to find the problem from this.

There are two more things I would like you to check:

1) Please check your Internet Settings to see if your Security Settings are set to the default level. Having increased security can block all scripts including those of the menu.

browser security settings

2) Please check if you have any plugins installed in the browser. Sometimes badly-written plugins can create problems in other scripts of a page. If you do have plugins installed, please try turning them all off. If the menu then appears normally it means that the problem was in one of the plugins. In this case, please try enabling the plugins again one at a time to see which one is causing the problems.

I think I have it resolved.

It never was a menu issue so sorry for troubling you. The menu is white. The background was broke so you couldn’t see it. They kept telling me the menu was missing but until they sent the screenshot today I didn’t know the BG was gone.

The image for background had a full path and not just relative. I think their browsers were blocking the image because it was http://...

Haven't heard back from them but I am gonna guess its resolved.

Hello,

I would like to know how to go about placing a menu in my sidebar (widget).  For example, what kind of position do I use?  Also, do I place the code in a "text" widget then place it in the side bar of my choice?

Thank you
Celia

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear Celia,

You can create a widget from within the AllWebMenus Plugin settings:

AllWebMenus Plugin settings

Then you can position this widget anywhere you want from the WordPress settings.

Please follow the instructions you will see there.

Dear All

I have a problem with awm and "OPERA" (OK for other browsers)

The French characters "é", "è", and so on are not correctly displayed

See website http://www.mange-mon-amour.be

Is it some settings to do in AWM?

Best regards

Cordialement
Roland

Dear Roland,

I do not think so, as this is a plain text with a given font. If there is a problem, then it most likely has to do with how Opera handles the specific font.

Still, I did not see any problems in my own Opera installation:

correct opera preview

Is this not what you see? If not, can you please send me a screenshot?

Hmmm… what is your default “encoding”? Is it possible that you have selected a specific encoding that does not support accented characters? Please try the automatic or UTF-8 encoding:

Thank you for your help

It was on automatic, I had to set it utf-8.

Strange that it does not work on automatic

Initial Email Subject: Can't see the compile file
Support Case Month: November 2012

Hi,

My computer was « reinstalled » with Windows 7 Professionnal 2 weeks ago and since then, I have problems with Likno.  When I compile a source file, Likno says the file exists and ask me if I want to replace it.  Perfect.  I say yes and that’s it.  But when I go on the directory with the windows file explorer, I can’t see that file????  Just to make sure the file is there, I clock on the windows button (Start Button down left of the bottom menu bar) and I enter the name of the file in the search field and I can find the file.

Any idea of what append?

Thanks

Hello,

Please double-check your “Root folder” settings. We have seen several cases in the past where after a “re-installation” or “upgrade” the customer now had a different username in the PC. The result is that the menu project was still writing under the Documents of the old user and the customer was looking under his new Documents folder.

If this is also the case with you, the solution is to update the Root Folder path.

Hello,

I am afraid that there is nothing we can do on our side regarding this issue.  The only way to force a refresh is through your server settings.

You should contact your host for more details on how to do this.
