Support Case Month: January 2013

Hi there menu Gods!  Hey, I'm trying out your responsive menus, and finding that with the Ul/Li  method, my menu disappears on version 2-4.  It's there and fine when I have ul/li unchecked, but the moment I combine responsive with populate through ul/li, I lose smaller versions.  I'm running 5.3 build 902, and have attached my source code.

Dear William,

You are correct, currently the UL/LI and Responsive Menus do not go together, but this will be added in the next build.

Did you not get the following message when you tried to do this?

responsive menu add-in

Looking again at the screenshot, I can see that I did it in the other order – I chose responsive first, and then UL/LI populate.  I think that’s why I didn’t get the warning.

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear Will,

You are correct! We should also have a message when selecting UL/LI or CSS menu. Anyway, I believe it will not take long until we fully support the responsive menus, so just hang on a little more.

Regarding your other two requests, I will forward them to our developers to see what they think of them. Please keep in mind that we also have a “Feature Rush” service where you pay for the development of a feature and we pledge to develop, test and release it within 10 working days. If you are interested in this I can get you a quote from our sales department.

Support Case Month: August 2012

We have a text editor that we use.  It has a tool called HTML Tidy that is finding errors in our code for our Menus.  The errors it is finding, do not make sense to us.

Could you take a look and tell me what you think...

This is the code:

{SOURCE CODE REMOVED}

Bob

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear Bob,

All warnings for “line 1” appear because HTML Tidy expected a full page with <html>,<head>,<body> tags etc. I assume that you indeed have these in your page, but you just checked part of your code with HTML Tidy.

All “<li>” warnings appear because of the “<br>” you have between <li> elements. According to HTML rules, nothing should be between “<li>” elements.

The “<p>” warnings appear because you should not have <ul><li> within a <p>, but the other way around.

Finally the “<a>” warning is because this link does not really have a link (in the href sense).

Note that all of these are warnings and you do not have any errors in your code.

Support Case Month: June 2012

Hello,
Ok, so I have created a couple of pages for you to review. This may be an issue with how I am building the Modal window, I am not using iFrame. Does that make a difference? Here are the links, please let me know what you find.
http://www.bhomes.org/a1.asp is the page that draws the links from the database.
If they load correctly you would see this page in the modal window depending on which link you clicked.
http://www.bhomes.org/a2.asp?id=1
http://www.bhomes.org/a2.asp?id=2

Thanks
Jim

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear Jim,

I checked your page and when I viewed the source code I saw this:

Error! Filename not specified.

This should be:

<a href="A2.asp?ID=1" target="Modal_Window_1">test</a>

And not:

<a href="javascript:;" onclick="window.Modal_Window_1('A2.asp?ID=1'); return false;" >test</a>

I thought this was clear in our previous emails!

I made the change in the link but it made no difference in the site. Please review again and let me know what I am doing wrong.
Thanks

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear Jim,

I just realized what was wrong…

Do you have the modal project set to “make links open in this window”?

modal windows make links open in this window

If not, please change this and change your “targets” to “Modal_Window_1_single” instead of “Modal_Window_1”.

The “Modal_Window_1” is for opening the existing (in-project) content and not what you find in pages.

This should fix everything.

C:\\Webs\\WEB_BOT\\content\\BONDS\\ADB\\ADB1.html

The menus work fine when I preview in MS Expression, but after published the index.html works fine but all of the other menus (which are the same) don't work on all the different pages. Please advise at you earliest convenience. Thanks, James

Hello,

I checked both your index and the ADB1 page, and I do not see the menu in either of them!

The reason is that the compiled menu file does not exist in the URL where they point to. This is what I get when I try to view the online menu file:

menu does not exist

I tried to open the same using this link - {URL REMOVED}   it tries to open

It attempts to open it.  This is the source code for the index.html page:

If you see the Linking Code it points to a different location:

src="../../WEB_BOT/BOTmenu.js"

Did you add the Linking Code manually or was it added by the application? Also, are you using the Expression Web plugin? And which version of Expression Web are you using?

I am using version 4.

I used a template to build the website and the menu was automatically placed in each page?

C:\Webs\WEB_BOT\BOTmenu.js       this is the location of file on my computer

{URL REMOVED} is this the location it should point to

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Then I guess that you just used the wrong Root Folder path in AllWebMenus. Did you use “C:\Webs\WEB_BOT” (correct) or “C:\Webs” (wrong)?

Support Case Month: March 2012

I have had my clients website up and running for almost a year. All of a sudden my menu stopped showing up on his website. I recompiled the menu and moved the appropriate files over to my server...no success. Could you give me suggestions on what to check?

Thanks,

Hi Kostas!

I am confused about one thing...locally it works just fine.

I moved over my index.html file, my recompiled files and an include file that

calls the menu...main_menu.inc

It seems that a disconnect is happening....I checked my include file call and it

seems just fine. What gets me is for this to just stop working. I haven't touched

the site in months!

I went to the site and checked the source...I can see my .inc call to the above

file. Any suggestions would help. But I will continue to look at the issue.

Thanks for you response!

Ted

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear Ted,

I checked your page’s Source Code again, and found some things like this:

php require

If your page was a PHP page, then this should NEVER show! It should be parsed by PHP and only the result (if any) should be visible in the code.

Is it possible that your host changed something on the server and this (and possibly more) page(s) is no longer treated as PHP but as plain HTML?

This would explain why the menu include file is no longer included and the menu no longer appears…
