Support Case Month: August 2012

Hello,

How to space the image "hassubmenu.gif"? See screenshot http://grands-espaces.pagesperso-orange.fr/allwebmenus/allwebmenu_has_01.png

I tried your examples but I have not found.

Thank you for your response.
King regards

Dear Daniel,

I am afraid that there is no specific setting for the hasSubmenu image placement.

What you could do, is to simply add some spaces at the end of the item content.

Kostas

Initial Email Subject: Menu shows "cracks"
Support Case Month: May 2012

I have a new menu that is showing 'cracks' in google chrome.  Spacing between items is zero.  Because of transparency on the sides and header/footer, I can't put a background color.
The menu is here: http://www.focusphotography.com/recent-weddings-and-portraits/
Is this a bug that might be resolved?

Hello,

I checked your main menu in Chrome and it appears fine!

main menu

I did notice a problem in the “left” menu:

side menu

Is this what you refer to? If so, can you please export and send me the menu project? (use “file-> export -> to zip”)

Hi Kostas.  Really big fan of the Likno products, by the way.  No, what I was referring to I don't see in your screen shot, but I've attached my own.  There's a space between the individual menu components that only exists in Chrome, and obviously I checked the space setting on the menu.  I wasn't sure if it was a known issue.

Hello again,

I tested your site in a couple more computers and I cannot see the problem I see in your screenshot! And then it occurred to me…

I believe that you see this because you are viewing the page in “zoom” mode. Please keep in mind that browsers do several “rounding errors” when they are zooming in, and it is easy to miss a pixel this way. I am afraid there is not much we can do about this.

browser zoom

Please confirm that you indeed view the page in zoom mode. If not, then please send me a screenshot of your Chrome “about box” and also tell me if you are using any plugins (and which) so that I can further investigate this.

Kostas

Hi there Kostas.  Yes, you're right, it happens in zoom mode.  Here's an interesting bit of code from chrome's inspect element:

<img tabindex="-1" id="AWMEL3_4" title="" style="outline: none; border: none; position: absolute; margin: 0px; cursor: default; z-index: 1002; left: 0px; top: 0px; width: 899px; height: 82px; visibility: inherit; " src="http://focusphotography.com/menu/scripts/../libraries/dot.gif" onmouseover="this.pi.onmouseover();return true" onmouseout="this.pi.onmouseout();" onmousedown="this.pi.onmousedown();" onclick="void(0);" alt="">

a 1pixel dot.gif in the middle of the menu where the crack appears.  Does that need to be there?

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello again,

The 1px “dot.gif” image exists over all the menu items (not only in the “crack” but over the whole menu), and it is required as this handles the mouse events.

It is not at all related to the problem you see.

Best Regards,
Kostas

Hello! We have released a new version of Likno Web Scroller (jQuery Slider) Builder: Version 1.0 build #122.

Check out What's New

- Created the Microsoft Expression Web 4 Add-in (EW4), so that users of Expression Web 4 can link and position their scrollers inside their pages through this Add-in.

- Added Example 09 (Amazon mockup): Similar scroller to the live scroller used on Amazon (as of October 2, 2012). Use of Navigation Arrows. Use of a "Page Numbers" only Navigation Bar ("Custom"). Use of rounded corners on "Container Area CSS".

HTML jQuery slider scroller Amazon mockup example

- Added the "None" option at the "Initially Selected Item" property, so that the scroller appears with no item in "selected" state.

- Changed the "Initially Selected Item" of "Example 06" to "Random", so that the scroller (slider) shows a random content when it initially appears.

- Improved the "fade" sub-effects to be more visible.

- Fixed a Navigation Bar issue where an extra space was added after the last page number.

- Fixed an issue regarding the Width option "Auto (variable): Different for each item".

- Fixed an issue with loading multiple scroller projects to a page.

- Fixed an issue with the combination of "Automatic Play (slideshow)" & "Step by Item" & "Random".

- Added the ability to insert and use custom values inside the page before the "Linking Code" section in order to override several internal project options.

- Fixed a positioning issue for "Floating" scrollers that used the "Relative to Element" or "Relative to Image" positioning option.

- Fixed an issue with the positioning of Navigation Arrows when they were "Embedded" inside a vertical scroller (jQuery slider).

- Fixed a Safari-related issue where the item separators appeared wider.

- Fixed an issue with the fonts in the Top/Bottom/Left/Right areas.
