Through the Responsive Menu feature you can specify the menu to show a different version of itself  depending on screen size (width). This is very useful when your website uses a responsive web design (RWD) layout.

Each different responsive menu version of the same menu project may have different content, styling or page positioning (at any combination).

How?

Open the "Responsive Menu" property found in "Global Properties"…

Responsive Menu property

...and select "Yes" along with the number of responsive menus that the loaded menu project should use.

Responsive Menu property UI

A listbox will then appear at the right side of the toolbar:

Responsive Menu property menu

Through this listbox, you can always select a different "Version" of your menu project (other than the regular "Version 1") to edit. All properties then refer to that particular version of the menu (except of some compile properties that refer to the entire project as a whole). You may then edit these properties to change the content, style or positioning values of that version.You can use the "Copy" and "Paste" functionality on the Structure or Styles among the different versions.

Note that some restrictions apply on this feature:

- You cannot have "responsive menus" when your menu project is of the CSS Menu Genre (to be implemented).
- You cannot have "responsive menus" when your menu project uses the "UL/LI" population method (to be implemented).
- You cannot have "responsive menus" when your menu project uses the "Cross-frame support" feature.

Note that we have more ideas to implement later on this feature (like use of a "combo box" as the smallest responsive menu version, more options to make the "copy & paste" easier between the different menu versions, etc.). Let us know your ideas too!

Dear Jon,

This can occur if AllWebMenus does not have the correct access rights to write into the Dreamweaver registry regarding the AllWebMenus location.

Can you please try running AllWebMenus independently “as Administrator” to see if this corrects the problem?

Kostas

I ran AWM as admin first. Opened project. Then ran DW. Opened page to edit pressed Edit Menu button. Same Error.

Dear Jon,

I checked our records and I see that with your AllWebMenus license you can use up to version 5.3.830. This is a pretty old version and it is possible that it did not support CS5.

Would you please try downloading the latest AllWebMenus version to see if this will correct the problem? Note that this will turn you back to “trial” mode, but you will still be able to confirm that the new build resolves the problem. If it does, then the answer is simple: you need to upgrade.

This is something that I would recommend anyway, as build 830 is pretty old and has known issues with both IE9 and Safari 5 (your menu may not even appear in some cases on these browsers).

That did it.

Question : how to implement new version for Safari functionality. - Just re-compile and upload js files????

Thanks Kostas

JON

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Yes. If you simply compile your menu(s) and upload the new compiled files, they will immediately work for all the latest browsers and mobile devices.

Make sure that you upload the library files (typically in the “awmdata” folder) and also make sure that you do this for ALL your menus if you have multiple menus in a page.

Hello,

The behavior of your modal is very weird. When I try it locally or on our own server, there is no scrollbar! But when I view it in your site, I do see a toolbar.

Can you please try setting the scrollbar to be always hidden? This should fix the problem.

body main css

Please add “overflow: hidden;” in the body main CSS to see if this corrects things.

I also noticed that you have a separate page for each image and that these pages do not have a valid DOCTYPE.

This could also be affecting IE as it required a valid DOCTYPE to function properly.

To test this, please go to one of your pages, e.g.:

http://www.turcobrosjewelers.com/v-1.0/windows/engagement-rings/page-01/image-004.html

and try changing this:

<html>

        <head>

               <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html;charset=iso-8859-1">

Into this:

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

    <head>

        <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html;charset=iso-8859-1">

Check now if loading this specific ring-page has a scrollbar like the rest.

When my site is accessed with Chrome, the menu displays.  However, when a page is scrolled down and then back to the top where my menu appears, the menu no longer displays unless the page is refreshed.  Is there a solution for this problem?

Dear Steve,

I tested your menu in Chrome in a couple of PCs and did not see the problem anywhere! Did you fix the problem in the meantime?

If not, then please send me a screenshot of your browser’s “about box” and tell me which windows version/edition/bit/language/service pack you have, so that I can further test this issue.

Kostas,

It still occurs on most occasions.

Hello again,

I see that you have some toolbars in Chrome. Could you try disabling any toolbars and add-ons you may have and see if this resolves the problem?

If so, please tell me which plugin caused this so that we can perform further tests.

Disabling the Ask toolbar seemed to work. This was to only one enabled.
