Hi,

I have used my own buttons with rounded ends. The green area here is transparent, however no matter what I set in AWM, the area shows as not being transparent (see below). I tried with both GIF and PNG’s, and with NO Background colors or tiles, but no joy. Did I miss a step some place?

Thanks,
Gus

Dear Gus,

This is because the item’s background tile image is being tiled throughout the whole item. You want to set this to tile between the left & right image:

In IE10 i see that in any of the menus where the menus/items have transparent backgrounds – the transparency is gone and the background shows as a default grey color.

The horizontal length of some of the menus becomes longer in IE10 and is correct in IE9

Any advice would be appreciated Kostas…

Thanks,
Pesi

Dear Pesi,

Regarding “{HOME PAGE URL}”, indeed the menu becomes a bit wider, but this is because of the way IE10+ renders fonts (the so called “cleartype”) which is wider than usual for specific fonts.

Regarding the transparency issue, I have checked our database and noticed that there was a fix for something similar in build 902. I have extended your Update Plan up to mid-January so that you will be able to get this version and see if it resolves any remaining issues. Please download this from your User Area account (and get a new Activation Code to pass the new license info).

I know I have seen this before, but I can’t find it in your knowledge base?
How do I get the dropdown menu to be in front of my scrolling banner images?
Now they are behind it when you click the navigation button.

Thanks,
Pat

Dear Pat,

You have to add the “wmode=transparent” parameter to your flash applet.

For detailed instructions, please have a look here:

My question is this...  I need buttons without the white background.  Can I make them with invisible background?  I can’t find a color to exactly match the page I need the buttons for.  Please help.

Thanks

Dear User,

Regarding creating transparent buttons, you can do this if you select the PNG file format that allows transparency:

Hi,

We are having an issue with that as well. We have a flash image that now we are finding is covering the dropdown when you mouse over. What can I do to put the dropdown ON TOP OF the flash image? If it helps, the web address is http://www.conest.com/default_video_new_menu3.asp. Please let me know what the solution is asap. I need to get this page up to replace the homepage.

Thanks
Cary

P.S. Just wanted to mention that I already have the z-index set to 1000.

I’ve been trying that, but it’s not quite fitting with the way m Flash has been coded in. Where would I place it? The code is brief for the flash and follows:

<td width="730" height=100 valign=top><embed src="/flash/entry13.swf" quality=high bgcolor=#FFFFFF  width=730 height=232 salign=L type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash"></embed></td></tr><tr>

Where would I fit the code referred to in the link? I believe it’s ('wmode','Transparent') supposed to be in 3 places in the example.

Thanks much.

Cary

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear Cary,

If you use the full flash code, then there are three distinct places where you can put “wmode”.

However you seem to use a much shorter version that only has the <embed> part. Hence, following the help example, you should add:

wmode="transparent"

flash object wmode transparent

So please correct the “ 'wmode', 'Transparent' ” that you added and instead use the correct code.
