Just upgraded to 5.3 Build 908 every time we open all web menus we get a message saying incompatible version of Server-Side API is installed, where do we get the latest version,

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello,

This sounds as if the Server-Side API dll was not properly removed, possibly because it was locked by windows.

Please try uninstalling AllWebMenus and then installing again. Let me know if this fixed the problem.

Support Case Month: March 2013

I just installed the Button Maker program. After I made a button, saved it, then when I go back to that file to open it, it wont let me?

clip_image001

It asks me what program should open my button file? and, the button maker is not in the list to open it. Why is this?

I cant seem to save my different master files and or projects?

Please let me know.

Thanks!

Robert

Hello,

The screenshot is not very clear, but it seems that after you saved the file you removed the “.wbm” extension. This caused windows to not recognize this file.

Still, your work is not lost! All you need to do to fix this, is to rename the file and add “.wbm” at the end.

Note that you can also open these files in Button Maker without renaming them, but you have to do it from the application using “File->Open”.

If the files have the “.wbm” extension and they still do not work with double-clicking, then I strongly recommend that you install the application again.

Hi Kostas,

The extension of ".wbm" was on the saved files. After I sent you an email, I went to the file, right clicked on it, and choose to open with button maker. It opened the file. I took your advise and uninstalled the program, and reinstalled it. The files open, but they have a different looking icon, its not the full icon as it in the start menu or desk top?

Thanks!

Robert

Initial Email Subject: MENUS ON INDEX PAGE DON'T SHOW UP ANYMORE
Support Case Month: March 2013

Hi,

I hope you can help.  Yesterday my menu on the index/home page of our website stopped being visible.  it is visible on all other pages.  This is using Internet Explorer  with various Windows Versions.
I have been told you can see it using Firefox and Chrome and with Windows 8 and Internet IE 10.
Are you aware of any updates that Windows did in the last few days that would have affected your menus?
I have reuploaded and replace the files, but if you look at the code, the files are fine and in my design software it is fine.
I'm stumped and don't know what to do.  Can you check it out for me.

Thanks,
Pam

Dear Pam,

I did some tests and I was finally able to see the problem in IE7 in XP (but only there – all other versions of IE worked fine).

I noticed three things that may cause this issue:

1) You have two menus linked into this page, one of which is not used at all (its files do not exist online). Please remove the unused code as it can be causing issues:

remove unused menu code

2) The Linking Code is within other page elements and at the bottom of the page. It is best to always have the Linking Code at the top of the page, exactly after the <body> tag.

3) Your menu is compiled with an older version. Recompiling with a newer version may also fix the problem. Make sure that you upload both the “menu.js” and the “awmdata” folder.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

I got rid of the duplicate menu entry and that fixed the problem.

Strange that it wasn't a problem before this week, as I didn't change anything, but there were a number of windows updates, so perhaps that affected the page in the root directory.

Pam
