Support Case Month: April 2014

Hello!

Regarding drop-down menu trees; I just can't get it to show on my pages, neither locally or online.

I'm using WYSIWYG (wb9).

I have compiled my project in wb9 and every menu-line in your program I have linked to a specific .html file. In wb9 I have made an "insert HTML code" object and pasted the line:
<div id="treeid" style="position:absolute; width:100%;"></div>

I have not changed the default name or paths in your program and uploaded all files to my web-server.

I have compiled my menu to the place that it publishes my site locally in WB9.

I would very much appreciate some help.

Best regards
Michael

Hello Michael,

In the page you provided me I can find the code
<div id="treeid" style="position:absolute; width:100%;"></div>

However, there is not linking code for the tree.

You need to link the tree (after you have compiled it) to the pages you need it to appear. Open the tree project and click Link Tree, on the form that appears choose the pages you want the tree to appear and click the right arrows to transfer them on the right side. Finally click the Link.

link drop down tree to pages

Alternatively, you may want to manually add the linking code to your pages. That means you need to edit the pages you want the tree to appear and add the following code right after the <body> tag.

<!-- ******** BEGIN LIKNODROPDOWNMENUTREE CODE FOR tree_TeamEmployeeTraining ******** -->

<script type="text/javascript">var TreeName="tree_TeamEmployeeTraining",TreeLinkedBy="Likno LDMT [1]",awtBN=156</script>

<script type="text/javascript" src="/likno-scripts/tree_TeamEmployeeTraining/ldmt.js"></script>

<script type="text/javascript" charset="UTF-8" src="/likno-scripts/tree_TeamEmployeeTraining/tree_TeamEmployeeTraining.js"></script>

<!-- ******** END LIKNODROPDOWNMENUTREE CODE FOR tree_TeamEmployeeTraining ******** -->

Where highlighted you need to change that to values according to your project. In case you need help on this, please send me your tree project file so I can give you the exact names.

Please, let me know if I can be of further help.

Hello,

Does your AllWebMenus product support footer slide-up menus?  If so, how many layers deep will it display? Can it display both vertically and horizontally?

For ease of communication, please understand that I am from the design/ergonomics side of web production rather than into coding.  Give me a menu or  wysiwyg and no problem; talk about code or the back end and I am lost.

Best of the season to you!

Thank you for bearing with me.

Kind regards,
Laurie

Hello Laurie,

First, thank you for your interest in our Likno Products.

Do you have an example of a footer slide up menu that you would like to achieve? film Hacksaw Ridge trailer

Don't worry, you don't need to feel comfortable on coding in order to use our software. They have a WYSIWYG interface, so in an easy way and codeless you can create what you need.

Thank you.

Hi Aggelos,

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly.

Please have a look at my website, which is still in the early stages of development:

{URL REMOVED}

As you see, I am using the drop-down menu that was packaged with my theme.

In essence, I would like to install the mirror image of this drop-down in the footer.  I believe this feature is known as a slide-up menu; it behaves much the same as a drop-down but propagates upwards

I think what I am asking for is a relatively new concept.  I have not come on a WordPress theme or plugin that offers the footer slide-up feature out of the box but I see that your product is quite new; hence, my inquiry.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Kind regards,

Laurie

Please, find attached a zip file containing a test menu project that shows what you refer.

A menu that its first level submenus appear above it with a slide up effect.

You need to download AlWebMenus Pro in order to open the menu project and see how it is created. You can download it here: http://www.likno.com/download.html

We also have a WordPress plugin for AllWebMenus which you can find it here: http://www.likno.com/addins/wordpress-menu.html

Hello

Is it possible to attach a shadow to text in AllWebMenus?

If not, it would be a useful addition for a future build.

Regards,
Garry

Hello Garry,

This is not possible in a WYSIWYG mode in the application.

But, still you could have text shadow in your menu items.

You could have your menu as a CSS menu and then you can add a specific style (text-shadow in your case) to each item you want as inline style or even better create a new class in your CSS file for the text-shadow and apply that class to the menu items you want them to have a text shadow.

Let me know if you need more information.

Thank you!
