I have been using AWM for years and have used to create many websites. It's been a very valuable too. But lately it seems to be incompatible with different browsers. For example it may work in Mozilla Firefox but not work in I.E. explorer or Safari.

Current website effected are {URLs REMOVED} and more. These websites I maintain and have other javascript on them but the menus are driving me crazy. Do I have to upload all the files all time when I make a change to an html page yet I make no change to the menu? Even if I do do this, it still won't work in Safari. This is an ongoing major issue. Thanks in advance for your help. I'm rethinking using it on future projects if it is that incompatible with new versions of web browsers.

Hello,

I checked your sites and it seems that they all use a very old version of AllWebMenus (from 2009), which indeed did not support IE9 and Safari 5 (both of these browsers were released at least two years after the AllWebMenus version you used, and they introduced incompatibilities that were resolved in newer versions).

I also checked your licenses and I see that you can get the latest AllWebMenus for free.

All you have to do to fix the problem is to recompile your menus with the latest AllWebMenus version and upload the new compiled files.

Regarding your other question, you only have to upload the menu files when you change the menu.

Note that AllWebMenus is not generally “incompatible with newer browsers”. It is these two specific browsers/versions that introduced new incompatibilities and we supported both of them with new AllWebMenus releases as soon as they were at “release candidate” state (before they were even officially released). We also issued a newsletter to notify our users about this, but I guess that you did not receive or read this.

Finally, please keep in mind that we constantly improve our products, so if you ever find some problem, chances are that we have already fixed it in a newer release.

Regards,
Kostas
