Hello,

I haven't been able to find directions for this in the help or manual:
I want to use tool-tips as pop-up definitions for specific words or phrases throughout my HTML pages.
I am able to design and compile, but don't know what to do after that.

I am using Coffee Cup Visual Site Designer and set up the paragraphs with the words I need defined in the "insert HTML" dialogue box. So, I have access to the code (very basic HTML) I use for the paragraph as "Body HTML". This is to say, I am not entering the text through their WYSIWYG interface when it comes to the paragraphs containing the words that need the tool-tips.
I can enter code into a general "Header HTML" if need be.
How can I accomplish this? Any guidance will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Robert

Hello Robert,

The general process for creating and publishing a tooltip in your page is:

1. Create your Tooltip Project.

2. Compile your project.

3. Link it to your page.

4. Have the code that triggers the tooltip in your page.

In your case, you said you have compiled the project. Then you need to link it to your page.

Press "Link"

link jQuery Tooltip to a page

This message will appear (it asks you if this is the correct compiled project that you want to link)

link compiled tooltip project

Then, choose the html page you would like to link your tooltips and click on right arrows and finally the link button. This will link your tooltips to your page.

choose HTML page to link Tooltip

Then, you should add to your page the code that triggers the tooltip. Check these options and click on "?" to see more help and examples.

add code that triggers the tooltip

For example:

<p ID="Tooltip_1">Test Word</p>

The above will trigger the tooltip when someone mouse over the Test Word.

Let me know if you need any more clarification.

Thank you!
