Support Case Month: January 2013

So...I'm trying out the software and I can't seem to find one very simple operation.
I have created a sample menu and applied the theme of "animated corn" which has a yellow color as its main button color.
How do I change this to another color?  I think I have looked through all of this and can't seem to find the main button color item.
Any help you can provide would be appreciated.

Hello Tim,

As you can see this "color" is animated which means that… it is not a color!... It is actually an animated image that TILES in the background:

Menu background tile image

This means that you can only change this by editing this image in an image editor that can handle animated images and change colors there. This may be difficult if you are not experienced in image editing because of the animation. But you can simply skip the animation and create a static image OR just remove this image from there and use the "Background Color" instead.

I have a new menu that is showing 'cracks' in google chrome.  Spacing between items is zero.  Because of transparency on the sides and header/footer, I can't put a background color.
The menu is here: http://www.focusphotography.com/recent-weddings-and-portraits/
Is this a bug that might be resolved?

Hello,

I checked your main menu in Chrome and it appears fine!

I did notice a problem in the “left” menu:

side menu

Is this what you refer to? If so, can you please export and send me the menu project? (use “file-> export -> to zip”)

Hi Kostas.  Really big fan of the Likno products, by the way.  No, what I was referring to I don't see in your screen shot, but I've attached my own.  There's a space between the individual menu components that only exists in Chrome, and obviously I checked the space setting on the menu.  I wasn't sure if it was a known issue.

Hello again,

I tested your site in a couple more computers and I cannot see the problem I see in your screenshot! And then it occurred to me…

I believe that you see this because you are viewing the page in “zoom” mode. Please keep in mind that browsers do several “rounding errors” when they are zooming in, and it is easy to miss a pixel this way. I am afraid there is not much we can do about this.

browser zoom

Please confirm that you indeed view the page in zoom mode. If not, then please send me a screenshot of your Chrome “about box” and also tell me if you are using any plugins (and which) so that I can further investigate this.

Hi there Kostas.  Yes, you're right, it happens in zoom mode.  Here's an interesting bit of code from chrome's inspect element:

<img tabindex="-1" id="AWMEL3_4" title="" style="outline: none; border: none; position: absolute; margin: 0px; cursor: default; z-index: 1002; left: 0px; top: 0px; width: 899px; height: 82px; visibility: inherit; " src="http://focusphotography.com/menu/scripts/../libraries/dot.gif" onmouseover="this.pi.onmouseover();return true" onmouseout="this.pi.onmouseout();" onmousedown="this.pi.onmousedown();" onclick="void(0);" alt="">

a 1pixel dot.gif in the middle of the menu where the crack appears.  Does that need to be there?

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello again,

The 1px “dot.gif” image exists over all the menu items (not only in the “crack” but over the whole menu), and it is required as this handles the mouse events.

It is not at all related to the problem you see.

Support Case Month: October 2012

I need to customize individual buttons background colors for main items to match the colors in their logo. I can change the background  on all of the buttons but that will not work for the individual buttons. Any help greatly appreciated.

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear Dave,

You can do this by adding customized style values to each item. First click on “All Values” to see the values that can be customized, then change what you want. (“Custom Values” will only show the customized values)

Dear Dave,

Having another look at your project file, I noticed that this is image-based. So it does not have a background color, but a background image instead:

In this case you have to change the Background Image Set:

menu background image settings

If you do not find something you like in the existing sets, you can also create your own images and change them individually (i.e. not as a set) there.

Just keep in mind that you have to use images that have the same height in order to prevent the menu from “breaking”.

You could also open the currently used images in a graphic editor and make a copy with different colors. (you will find them in the compiled folder)

Thanks for the info. I will work on that.

I was looking at your Button Maker and it looks like there are some template pieces that look like it would be the same format as the ones I am using. Might be able to use that also..

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Indeed, Button Maker has several templates that you could use as a background for your menu items.

The only thing you have to keep in mind is that (due to the nature of these buttons) the Button Maker images have a fixed width (which you set), so you do not use them as a “set” but as “Background Image 1” only, setting the “tile image” and “image 2” to “none”.

Support Case Month: September 2012

Dear Kosta!

Just a question to Modal-Window. Can I create my own designs? In the examples there are not really designs I can use on my webpages. I do not mean the background-image.

Thanks

Michael

Dear Michael,

I am not sure exactly what you mean. I guess you can change anything related to the modal appearance from the related CSS fields of each area (Modal Window, Header, Body, Footer).

Everything is under the Style Editor:

modal window CSS properties

Is this what you wanted? If not, please explain in more detail, or send me a design that you like and I can hint you on how to achieve this with our program.
