Support Case Month: December 2012

Hello,
I'm a registered Likno Web Button Maker owner (version 2.0.162).
The screenshot illustrating my problem is attached, so you can see what is occurring.  Also attached is the little image I wanted to use for the button background.
I've worked for hours just trying to set a small image as the background of my Likno Web Button.  I used PNG files, because I saw no restriction specified against using PNGs.
I started with the basic square chamfer button template.  For the purpose of showing this problem, I made the button size much bigger than any image I would apply as the 'background' during this test.  The latest image I selected was only 184x82, and my button size is set really large at 544x314.  I used the larger button size just to make my screen shot clearer for you.  I selected 'Stretch', so you could see my image hiding behind my button.
When I produce my button, it's simply blank, white -- my image isn't there.
Believe me, I read, then re-read the Help file and followed the instructions about putting an image on a button.  Following the instructions didn't yield a 'picture button', which is what I wanted.
Can you help?
Bob

Dear Bob,

I assume that what you are seeing is the actual button…

The background image is something that will appear behind the actual button and not on it. If you want something to appear on the button but behind the text, then I guess that you want to change the “Texture” in the “Button Material” tab:

button material]

Note however that this will always be stretched, so you should make sure your image has the correct size (and maybe the correct transparent padding around it if you want a small image to be centered into a larger button).

Dear Kostas,

I hope you are doing fine.

Is it possible to manage the tooltip colors (background, text etc) dynamically or external from the default css file? Is that also possible for the modal window builder?

Many thanks,
Paolo

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear Paolo,

I am afraid that this is not currently possible, as the styles are applied by the Modal library directly onto the Modal Window elements and would overwrite any external CSS.

The same thing applies to the tooltips, although it may be easier to override it there as the style is static (in the sense that it does not change when you mouse-over etc.).

If you open the compiled js file of the tooltips, you will see that there are two places where the styles are defined as actual CSS classes that are appended to the document head. I guess that if you know your coding, you can overwrite (or override) these with your own values.

Still, I am afraid that we cannot provide any support and guidance on this, and it will be your sole responsibility to ensure that things work correctly and cross-browser.

Will your software allow custom background and width for all buttons on all levels? (Most important is the top level needs custom art for each button; on and off states.

thanks for your response.

Hello,

Yes, our menus can be fully customized, not only per "level" but also per "item" (button).

Each menu item can have a different design for the top level and all other levels (which are unlimited).

I suggest that you download and play with the Trial version:

http://www.likno.com/download.html

You can set the main styles (per level) in the Style Editor:

Then you can “customize” each item as you wish in the Menu Editor:

Hello again,

Let me answer your questions in turn:

1) Yes we have indeed tested our products in iPhone and iPad, as well as many other smartphones and tablets. AllWebMenus fully supports all the latest browsers and mobile devices.

2) Yes, it is HTML5 compatible.

3) The “boxes” you see is most likely the background color of the Group. Please check if you have a “Distance Between Items” that will allow the Group background to show:

I am building a new site, and the style menu I chose pulses with a yellow background. The pulsing is similar to your example "selection animated". Can I get rid of the pulsing without choosing a different theme and rebuilding it completely?? I don't see any features in the styles menu that suggest this can be done.

Thanks,
Ron

Hello Ron,

The animation feature is applied through the use of an animated gif as the background image. Just remove this image and use a Background Color instead:

Support Case Month: July 2012

I am using Modal Windows.  I am trying to load a Background Image that uses a Gradient.  It is not appearing the proper way.  The prior background color is still showing even though it has been removed.  Is there any problem using a gradient in WebModal?

Thanks,
Bob

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear Bob,

There should not be a problem with gradient background in a modal window. Does this not even work in the preview? Are you sure your CSS code is correct? (I am asking because the gradient background requires a pretty complex CSS which is different for each browser.)

Can you please send me your Modal project so that I can have a look?

The gradient is actually an image file, so I am just trying to set the background image.

Then the most likely problem is that the image is not in the correct place online. If you send me the URL of an example page I can test this for you.
