Support Case Month: July 2012

Hello Kostas,

After I finished with the Likno Accordion I continued to make then a Likno Scroller. I then implemented the code into my web page but after saving all I see is the outside blue border of the scroller (see pic below). I have also attached my project for you to look at.

I have gone over my code several times but I just cannot find the problem. Can you have a look please?

Thank you for your help.

Regards,

Michael

Dear Michael,

I checked your page and it seems that the required Scroller compiled files do not exist online (at least not where they are expected).

Please make sure that you have uploaded all the compiled files to the correct location. According to your Linking Code in this specific page, the main compiled file is expected at:

http://www.ejam.co/category/832/Kitchen,-Dining-and-Bar/listings/501/likno-scripts-scroller/likno_scroller_project.js

(the rest should be in the same folder, unless you specified otherwise in the “folder” properties)

NOTE: We have released a new version today, which resolves several issues with the scroller dimensions, so I *strongly* recommend downloading this now (depending on your settings, it may change the appearance of your scroller).

Kostas

Hello Kostas,

Ok, I downloaded the new version and updated the code. As you can see from the pic the border has now the correct width but still no content.

So, it is finding the location of the files but only showing one line which is the outside border…??? Something in the scroller program?? Not sure why it is only showing one element of the scroller (if it was not finding the compiled files then it would not show the outside border?)…??

Dear Michael,

It seems that the problem was in the population code you used. However this was not your fault! The generated sample code in the application had some problems which we have now corrected.

We have found this problem and corrected it.

I checked your page, and it seems that you did not upload the compiled file again. (or did you remove it in the meantime?)

Hello,

Yes I deleted everything and started fresh, after a few attempts I did get it to work as you can see at the bottom

Of all “auction” pages. I wanted to have the scroller on my home page but it would not work together on the

Same page as the Accordion Scroller. So I had to remove it and put it on another page…

If you cannot find the problem, then please export and send me the menu project file so that I can have a look at it:

Support Case Month: May 2012

Hello again...
A short last question about the "dotted" border pressing on a link.
Some idea / tip how we can disable it... ?
See attached image.
I tested to use some code like:

<div id="treeid" style="border:0; outline:none"></div>

Thanks for a short response
Ernesto

Dear Ernesto,

This happens in IE (and a bit differently in Safari & Chrome) because these browsers automatically add an effect to the items that have the focus.

Please add “outline: none;” to the Root Style and all Node Styles in order to remove the borders.

I added a shadow to my menu. At some point I noticed that there was a thin line border around the shadow area. I cannot figure out what is causing this. The online Knowledge base did not pull up anything relevant with keywords shadow and border.

The image does not exist online. Hence Firefox is not showing the image at all and the ads go behind the menu, while IE and Chrome show the “image not found”, so the ads move downwards, but you also see the “border” behind the menu:

missing image

Simply make sure the image exists online in order to fix the problem:

Well, Yippy at last! I finally read the two messages from you c a r e f u l l y, after a long day of replacing a lot of old style code and fixing a bunch of messes that the process created.

You diagnosed correctly – the missing image caused the overlap problem in Firefox and also created a missing image box in IE9 and Chrome.

It is now clear that the AllWebMenus script enlarges the reserved space for the positioning image. I am guessing by adding a bottom margin large enough to hold the menu.

I was inserting the positioning image and the Google code with a Library file using Dreamweaver. Apparently the path to the image went wrong along the way somehow.

I truly appreciate your help. I don’t know that I would have ever come up with this solution.

How do I get AWM to link to the bottom shared border in Expression Web 4???

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello,

If you are using “shared borders”, then you should have a separate file for each “border”. In this case, you just need to open this file in Expression Web and link the menu in there using the plugin. If you are not using the AllWebMenus plugin, then simply link to the “border” file through AllWebMenus.
