Is there a way to specify a link target as a new tab in the existing browser window rather than a new window?
Mark

Hello Mark,
Using target="_blank" will tell the browser to use a new tab/window, depending on the user's browser configuration, and also depending on how they click on the link (middle click, ctrl+click, normal click).
So, the answer is you cannot specify to open a link in a new tab.
Note, that I found this: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/6296013/how-can-i-open-a-link-in-new-tab-and-not-new-window
But it's not recommended as it is not cross-browser.
Thank you!
Kind Regards,

I have searched and can not find an answer to why this problem is happening.
I just need to know if this is a bug or if it is even possible. If it is possible I have no problem paying for support to get the answer.
I have a AWM in a WordPress site. When I scale the browser window smaller the menu does not scale with it.
I read on your blog that this is just how it works....but I find it hard to believe that you would think anyone would want to use a menu that wont scale with the site. Especially now with all the ipad and smartphone out there. If this is true...I just wasted money updating my software because I will just use the menu from wordpress. I would look so unprofessional using this great looking menu that wont scale.
I am hoping you will tell me that it is possible...if so I will renew my support plan...if not....you have lost a long time user and I wish I wouldn't have wasted money I really don't have to throw away.
Thank you,
Marilyn

Dear Marilyn,
When you say “scaling the browser” do you mean that you resize the browser window? If so, then what you are really after is a “responsive menu”.
This is a relatively new concept that was introduced based on the fact that most tablets have a smaller screen.
AllWebMenus does not currently support responsive menus, but we are already working on it and it is going to be the next big addition in less than 3 weeks. With this feature you will be able to design a number of different menus and have each one display depending on the browser size. Do you want me to add you in the notify list for when this feature is available?
Best Regards,
Kostas

AllWebMenus Pro has the "Link Target" property. This property specifies the frame, iframe or window where the page specified by the "Link" property (of the menu item) opens. The image below shows the various options of the "Link Target" property.

If you choose option "_blank" the page specified by the "Link" property of the menu item will open in an new browser window. You can define the properties of the opening window selecting the option "use parameters". Then you have to click on the "use parameters" option and a window like the image below will appear and will allow you to customize the browser window.
