Hi,

I want to know if this is possible with your menu program.

I built a sliding menu. I placed it in a DIV. Then I linked the menu to many different anchors. When you click an item in the menu it goes to that item BUT the menu floats to the bottom of the page? I want the menu to stick at the selected anchor, so the menu is lined up, side by side with that item. Is this possible? and if yes, how do you set that up?

Also, the floating menu goes behind my main nav, and it also was made with your program. I read about the z_index but it says to leave it a 1000? How can I make it go over the nav?

Please let me know.

Thanks!
Robert

Dear Robert,

I am afraid there is no way to have the menu always appearing next to the anchor of what you clicked. Still, there is something you can do to make it look better in some cases.

Currently the menu always stays in the exact same place where you positioned it, relative to the browser window.

If you set the menu to be “Advanced Floating” then you can have it stick with the page until it reaches the top of the window and then float there until you reach the end of the page. Since when you call an anchor the page is automatically scrolled to put it at the top of the page, this will work in most cases. It will not work for the last part of the page that never reaches the top of the window. So this will give you a partial solution to the problem. Also note however that this requires that you purchase the Advanced Floating Add-in, so it is up to you to decide if it is worth the cost.

Regarding the z_index, where did you see that you “have to leave it at 1000”? You can change it as you wish! And if you want the floating menu to be on top, simply make its z_index bigger than the z_index of the other menu.

How could I keep a floating image indicator unhidden on a selected menu item? For example, I would like the indicator of the home page to be shown while the user is in the home page.

Hello,

This is not possible exactly the way you describe it. What you can do instead, is to use the floating image on the “click state”, and set your menu to automatically highlight the “current item”.

This will automatically set the “current item” to the “click state”, based on the URL shown in the address bar:

floating image on click state

highlight menu item bases on URL

Dear Kostas,

Many thx your prompt feedback!

I wish to add that your software is fantastic.  I bought the drop-down and the menu creator.

Sometimes there is a crash, but that has maybe to do with pc memory, I have plenty applications open.

If I can repeat the issue, then I let you know.

The border around the root is now perfect – many thx

I tried the same for nodes, however when selecting, that border is still visible

Hereby included some screenshots.

Kind regards,

Paul.

Dear Paul,

You can add the following CSS line in the <head> section of your page:

head section style properties

If you change your tree’s Compile Name to e.g. “myTree.js”, then the rule should also change to:

#myTree * { outline: none; }

Regarding the crash you mentioned, please do let us know if this happens again or if you can find what are the circumstances that cause it. Does this happen to the Trees application only?

Hello Kostas,

I have a question. Modal windows can be used to enlarge images like it does fancybox for example?
If yes how do I do it?

Many thanks,
Paolo

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear Paolo,

Fancybox does not enlarge images itself. I guess what you mean is that you can click on a thumbnail and view the big image. Of course you must already have the images and thumbnails yourself.

In order to do this with Modal Windows you need to:

1) set the modal window to “Make certain links/forms in page open this window”:

what selected modal window to do

2) For each image in your page, you need to have the following code:

<a href="#bigimage1" target="Modal_Window_1_single"><img src="thumbnail1.jpg"></a>
<img id="bigimage1" src="bigimage.jpg" style="display: none;">

If you the modal window to have all the images (multi-sheet) and open in the specific image sheet, then just change this:

<a href="#bigimage1" target="Modal_Window_1_single">
     <img src="thumbnail1.jpg">
</a>

into this:

<a href="#bigimage1" target="Modal_Window_1_multi_links">
     <img src="thumbnail1.jpg">
</a>

You will find more information and samples in the “Content” area.

Hi.
Can you please help me with the sub menu issue on this page ?
{URL REMOVED}
The sub is ok until you click on a link.
Then the submenu is....strange...
Thanks for a great product !

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello Vegard ,

This probably happens because you are using a VERY old menu which has compatibility issues with newer browsers.

I strongly recommend that you upgrade to the latest AllWebMenus version as your current version has known issues with IE9&10 as well as Safari browsers.
