Hi, I wish to purchase your modal windows and tool tip tool, can they be added to Netobjects Fusion 12 as components. Please reply soonest…

Tim

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear Tim,

Well, if Netobjects Fusion 12 allows you to insert code directly into your page and also to upload the compiled files to your server, then there is no reason why this would not work.

I suggest that you download the trial and try it out.

Note however that your modal/tooltips will not show online with the trial. You can either view the pages locally, or if you want to see them online, then you need to use the server IP instead of domain name in the page URL in the browser address bar.

In any case, let me know if you run into any problems, and also send me the URL so that I can check it myself.

Regards,
Kostas

Initial Email Subject: Problem in Joomla 2.5
Support Case Month: August 2012

Hi Guys,

I am experiencing problems with AWM in Joomla 2.5.6.

1. I created the main Menu and Called it AllWebmenus:main It works fine as a main menu. The menu is set to display on all pages.

2. I created a side menu (vertical menu) in Joomla called training and selected it to display on all pages and added menu items to this. However, when I click on the side menu link the page opens but does not display the AWM main menu.

It is important to note that if I enable the Joomla main menu it does work properly.

What am I doing wrong? I cannot seem to find out.

Dear Brent,

I visited several pages using the top menu and noticed that you have different side menus. However, all of them seem to have bad links that lead to “page not found” errors, and the only exception is the first link of the “training” side menu, which points to a “component” page. This “component” page is the only page I found that did not have the top menu. So I assume that the problem is really with the Joomla left-side menus and not with AllWebMenus.

Please let me know if you have more information regarding this problem.

Hi Kostas,

Can you check on your side if the addition of aliases for the menu items are in fact picked up by AWM or not? If not, can you look into this please?

Much Appreciated.

Warm regards

Dear Brent,

I can have a look on this, but the problems I saw were not in AllWebMenus! They were on the other left-hand-side-menu you had…

Hi Kostas

Not to worry, I just found the problem. He assigned an internal url to an external url menu item type. I think the problem comes in when you activate the main menu and it still appears, but the AWM menu does not appear. The question is why does Joomla still show the main menu but AWM that is selected to show on ALL PAGES does not?

Warm Regards

Dear Brent,

I am afraid I do not really understand what the remaining problem is now.

Can you please explain in more detail and send me a URL to check?

Hi Kostas,

No problem. Consider the problem resolved. Thanks for the help. The problem was related to my client trying to insert an internal url in an external url menu item. I  created an article and changed the menu item to a single article and it works fine.

Have a great day further.

Warm Regards

Initial Email Subject: Joomla 2.5 component and AllWebMenus are not compatible
Support Case Month: February 2012

The component will install but will not generate a structure that you can download to your AllWebMenus it simply takes you back to the main joomla administration window.  Which makes this menu system non-functional for Joomla 2.5.x websites.  And like hood of it being compatible with Joomla 3.0 is even less likely.

All WebMenus saves me time in having to write the code my self.  However I am not oppose to doing so,  However how you address this will determine how I go forward with purchasing your menu system.
If no fixes are made and you simply disregard my note of a Major bug.. Then so be it.  I am finding that I really Like Joomla.  So if I continue to use this platform for some of my web projects I may consider not paying for additional years when the product doesn't support itself after I purchase the extension on the product itself.  I simply have to wait for someone else to complain about Joomla / AllWebMenus not being compatible with each other.

Your program works great with Static HTML sites or with WordPress.
Just not the current version of Joomla.

Dear John,

We have just released a new component that will also work in Joomla 2.5 (build 1.1.15, zip for 1.6+). Would you please download and test this?

Let me know if you find any problems that we missed:

http://www.likno.com/addins/joomla-menu.html

Again thank you for your feedback and understanding regarding the delay in resolving this issue.

The menu works great however this is one major problem that I have found.
Using the standard Joomla menu system.  Certain menu items are not visible to the public access and are only visible if you are logged in.
Using Joomla 2.5 you can now create your own groups and extend the functionality of hiding specific menu items.
Using AllWebMenus and creating a dynamic web menu which is suppose to be the same as the Joomla menu.  However, it shows all the menu items to the public even if you are not logged in.
If you go to {URL REMOVED} you will see that there is a "Members only" menu and an "Admin Articles"  this should to not be visible to the public.  Additionally if I am logged in as a member the Admin Articles should not be visible by the members as they don't have rights to that aspect of my Joomla System.
However with the allwebmenus menu system they can know the menu item and the sub items listed.  Making my full menu structure visible.

You have selected to create a menu structure of "Dynamic Type".

This means that the menu items in AllWebMenus will only be used for preview/styling purposes.

In your actual pages these items will be ignored and the menu will be populated "dynamically" based on the plugin settings.

The styles in AllWebMenus Style Editor will be used to form the actual menu items.

What this means to me is that AllWebMenus should follow the same structure as does the Default Joomla Menu System.

Dear John,

We just uploaded the new build (886.2) which also supports access levels in the menu.

Please test it and let us know if it needs anything else:

Same Problem
Menus:

  • Members only (Members Only Group)
  • Admin Articles (Super User Group)

Both groups are currently visible by the public.  Also I have tested this on FireFox and Chrome, I have also dumped the cache

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear John,

Have you set the specific menu items in the Joomla admin to require higher access? Can you please show me what you did with a screenshot? Where did you specify in Joomla that these menu items should not show without access rights?

Here is the AllWebMenus with no one logged in:
As you can see Members only and Admin articles is visible where if you compare with the Joomla Standard Menu you will see these menu items are missing.  All I have to do is disable the AllWebMenu and disable the plugin, re-activate the standard menu system to see the Joomla menu system.

Dear John,

According to your screenshots, everything looks fine and I was not able to find the problem.

Do you have direct access to the Joomla database? If so, is it possible to check the “menu” table and send me a copy of the menu items you see there? I am especially interested in their “access” column value, but it would probably help to have all of the columns.
