Hello my friends in support ...

My computer crashed with my likno software and all my awm files for my clients.

Have two questions:
      1) What is the best way to proceed to download the software. Have a new windows 8 computer.  Had "just" upgraded AllWebMenus 5 I believe.  Have some recent support tickets.
      2)  Still have to check my Carbonite backup for the awm files for my clients, but just in case is there any other access to them?

Anything else I should know??

Thanks!
Margie

Hello Margie,

Sad to see you had a computer crash.

1) The procedure to download, install and activate your AllWebMenus is:

    a. Login to your likno user area (http://www.likno.com/userarea)

    b. Go to AllWebMenus -> Download most recent build you are entitled to activate.

    c. Click Download.

    d. Install AllWebMenus.

    e. Open AllWebMenus.

    f. Go to Help -> Enter Activation Code.

    g. Copy the Installation ID and switch back to your likno user area.

    h. Go to AllWebMenus -> Get Activation Code.

    i. Paste the Installation ID you copied and click "Give me the Activation Code".

    j. Switch back to AllWebMenus and paste the Activation Code.

    k. Click "Activate" and you are ready to go.

2) If you hard drive is crashed I am afraid you cannot find any awm backup files. Those files are located in  "c:\Users\{user}\AppData\Roaming\Likno Software\AllWebMenus\AutoBackup\.."
I hope you have uploaded the awm files to your server.
Otherwise I am afraid this cannot be done automatically...

However, there is a partial solution (you regain around 80% of your existing work), read here: http://www.likno.com/blog/lost-allwebmenus-project/254/

Let me know if you need more information.

Kind Regards.

Thank you!!  This certainly helps a lot.
Am assuming my online backup will have the awm files.  Makes it much easier to know where to go to find "all" of them.  I have saved them per client folder.  Did not realize I could load them to the server.

Thank you again,
Margie

Hello,

If you re-installed windows then you need to get a new Activation Code as your Installation ID will also be changed. You can do this in your User Area account.

I also noticed that you are using a much older version of AllWebMenus (v4) and I wanted to let you know that there are some known issues with the latest Safari and IE browsers. You may want to consider upgrading to the latest AllWebMenus version to resolve any possible issues.
