Are your products Mac compatible? I'm looking for an alternative to CSS3 Menus

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello Daniel,

First, thank you for your interest in our Likno products.

Our scripts are CROSS-browser, as noted in our website too:

likno software products are cross-browser

Just note that that application itself (the Builder, not the scripts) is a Windows application so you need to work in a Windows PC. But the scripts it produces will work in any platform.

Kostas

Thank you. I tested out an older version (5.1) and it didn’t work on Safari, iPhone or iPad?

Is this program a one time payment or is it yearly?

Regards,

Mike

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear Mike,

The application is a "one-time payment" in the sense that you can use the version you purchased forever. Along with the purchase you get one year of free updates, so you can actually forever use any version released within this year. If however you want to get newer versions after this, then you need to extend your Update Plan. This is much cheaper than purchasing a new license, as the price is {PRICE REMOVED} for one year. Moreover, you get extra discounts if you extend before your Update Plan is expired, or if you extend for more years, so for example you can get 3 years for {PRICE REMOVED}(about {PRICE REMOVED} per year).

Initial Email Subject: Cross browser problem - bug
Support Case Month: August 2012

Hi guys

I think there is a bug in that the right side image on the menu, shows as missing or left sided in IE7 & 8, Chrome and Safari but is ok in IE9 and Firefox.

I’ m trying to avoid specifying a width as using Dreamweaver CS6 and the Fluid Grid layout which provides responsive designs - with the pace of smart phone web use the menus will have to perform cross device, perhaps % sizing would help

I will send the awn file by email and it includes the asset files as well.

Kind regards

Phil

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear Phil,

It seems that this issue is generated by a rule in your layout.css file. Specifically, you have the following rule close to the top of the file:

img, object, embed, video {

        max-width: 100%;

}

This rule affects ALL images, including those of the menu. I suggest that you remove this rule, or make it more specific (e.g. apply to a given class).

If this is not possible, let me know and I will forward the case to our developers to see if they can work around the problem on the menu library side.

Kostas

Hi Kostas

Thanks for the reply.

It is not possible to change this as it is the starting point for Dreamweaver CS6 new fluid grid or ‘Responsive’ layouts.

It is created by the Dreamweaver system, as is all of layout.css and we are advised not to touch it.

I would be grateful if your developers have a workaround please.

Kind regards

Phil

Dear Kostas

Thank you – it works Smile

I cannot believe how quickly you guys resolved this – fantastic.

I was beginning to think that perhaps AWM would not be suitable for Responsive design I am going to have to use in the future and as I use AWM on nearly all my sites I was disappointed.

Hopefully your developers have cured this for all the designs and please pass my thanks on to them for such  great service.

As an aside, I have used the menus now for a good few years and I would love to see new theme releases looking more modern with say rounded corners built in to the graphics.

On each new site I struggle to find a different design and have to discard the ones that have square corners as IE 7 and 8 will not round them and css3pie.com that I use cannot be connected to the menu to round them.

You guys have a great product and service, hope you do not mind me giving a bit of user feedback.

Thanks again.

Kind regards

Phil

Initial Email Subject: Modal window with video not working in Internet Explorer
Support Case Month: September 2012

Hello, Support,

Support plan expires February 22, 2013
Page used to perform as expected/desired.
Test in five different browsers on six different Windows computers.
Works OK in all browsers except Internet Explorer.
See attached screen capture.

Joe

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello Joe,

I see that you are using AllWebMenus extensively in that page (no problem though), even for single menu items. How do you open the "modal window", through the "javascript command" property? Because I also see that you are not using the "Likno Web Modal Windows Builder" product for that, which would "guarantee" that the modal window would open cross-browser:

So, can you please give us a little more info on how you open your custom modal window from an AllWebMenus menu? (in order to see what causes the problem)

Thank you.

Hello, Aris:

Thanks for your reply and offer to look to see what causes the problem.
I have attached zipped project files for both Web Modal Windows Builder and AWM 5 Pro.
I am unsure about the "javascript command" property usage.

Regards,
Joe

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear Joe,

I noticed that your Modal Window projects have been compiled with a pretty old version.

Would you please try compiling all of your Modal Window projects with the latest version of Likno Web Modal Windows Builder?

When I tested your projects locally they seemed to work fine in all browsers, so it is likely that the issue has already been resolved a long time ago.

Initial Email Subject: AllWebMenus Pro
Support Case Month: August 2012

I'm considering the purchase of Allwebmenus Pro. I downloaded the trial program but it doesn't allow me to compile the menu so that  I can test cross browser functionality.

In order to test it for functionality, I used a friend's computer and his Allwebmenus to create a test web site.
http://www.amtelecom.net/~gary.nancy/

I really like the program but the menu doesn't seem to work in the Safari browser.

What can you tell me about this issue?

Thanks in advance,
Gary

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello Gary,

First, thank you for your interest in our Likno products.

AllWebMenus version

It appears that the menu on your website was compiled with an *old* version of AllWebMenus (see “release history” here: http://www.likno.com/whatsnew.html ).

Safari was not fully compatible back then. The latest version IS fully compatible, so no problems if you purchase now.

Now, you may tell your friend to do the following for his own license:

You need to update/upgrade your AllWebMenus and re-compile/re-upload your menu files, as the *old* compiled menu cannot support the latest browsers and standards. Some browser versions did not even exist by that time (e.g. IE9 was officially released in March 2011).

How?

- Login to your Likno User Area at http://www.likno.com/userarea

- Click the "View/Manage Licenses and Plans":

menu manage license

- See there if your Update Plan has expired or not.

If "expired" then click the "Renew" link and renew your Update Plan.

- Download the current Version (Build) ( http://www.likno.com/download.html ) and install it.

- In your Likno User Area, click the "Get Activation Code" link and get a new Activation Code for this updated installation:

get activation code

- Open your old project file (.awm) in AllWebMenus, re-compile it and then upload the new menu files (along with the "awmdata" folder) to your website.

Note that you may need to delete your browser’s Temporary Internet Files (or cache files) before refreshing the page in order to see the menu.

Thanks!
