I am trying to display two separate menus on the same webpage. One is horizontal and the other vertical. I have linked both menus to the webpage using the compile function. Each menu has a different name. Both are positioned using the element option. The menus are compiled into the awmdata folder. The awmdata folder and the .js scripts are in the www.ok-safe.com/ root path. The horizontal menu displays and the vertical does not. The menu type that is not displaying is #15 - Smooth Scroll. The allocated space of 1200 x 500 for the menu is evident but no menu (see above URL). I am at a loss as to why the #15 menu type doesn't display. What is the likely problem?

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello,

It seems that you have set your vertical menu (“Randy_Bright_Smooth_Scroll”) to be populated in the page using a UL/LI structure.

However there is no such structure in your page, hence your menu has no items! Note that when you select the UL/LI method, you have to enter the UL/LI structure in your page(s) manually.

I suggest that you set the menu back to being populated within the application:

populate menu inside project

Let me know if you need anything else.

I am attempting to test a menu. I have it successfully displaying at this URL http://www.ok-safe.com/files/documents/1/OK-SAFE-Researchers-Summit.html , however, it does not display properly at this URL http://www.ok-safe.com/New-Urbanism-Randy-Bright.htm . I am unable to determine why. Please advise possible reasons.

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello,

I am not sure which menu you are talking about… In the “OK-SAFE” page you have two menus, while in the “New-Urbanism” page you only have one.

The menu you do have, seems to be working fine:

menu display

For the second menu, the problem is that you never linked the menu to the page.

What do you make of it?

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear Ken,

I see that you are viewing the site in IE (most likely IE8). I viewed the site in Firefox.

I tried with IE and I see the problem too.

Would you please try downloading the latest AllWebMenus version and compiling your menus with it?

Let me know so that I can check again.

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear Ken,

I believe the problem is caused by the fact that you have inserted the Linking Code in the middle of the page (by also adding extra <body></body> tags, which is considered invalid HTML).

Please move the Linking Code directly under the original <body> tag.

If this is not possible, then please check the following option in the Project Properties:

menu within tags

(note that this may cause your menu to appear a bit slower)

Initial Email From:
Todd
Initial Email Subject: Accordion Separator Display Issue
Support Case Month: December 2012

Greetings.  I have noticed recently that a particular accordion's separator is displayed differently on any pages.  In some instances the separator is thin, whereas in some instances it is thick.  This is despite any obvious CSS changes that I can tell.

On my screen, this is one of the separators that appears thicker:

{URL REMOVED}

These separators appear thin (desired):

{URL REMOVED}

Additionally, all accordion separators look thin when viewed with Chrome.

Is this something that I goofed up?  I don't remember making any significant changes, but I could be all wet.  Any help is most appreciated.  Cheers and thanks!

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear Todd,

I assume that the thin separator is this:

thin accordion separator

And the thick is this:

thick accordion separator

If so, the “thick” happens only in IE when it is in “quirks mode”. This is actually IE5.5 Compatibility Mode and it happens when you do not have a valid DOCTYPE in your page. Having anything at all before the DOCTYPE can also trigger the quirks mode (the DOCTYPE should always be the first thing in the page).

My suggestion is that you turn your pages to the HTML 5 DOCTYPE which is much simpler and make sure that all your pages start with the following two lines:

<!DOCTYPE html>

<html>

Note that this DOCTYPE does not require any URLs nor does it have different modes (e.g. transitional, strict etc.)

Initial Email Subject: Help Please with Likno Tabs
Support Case Month: July 2012

Hi there,

Yesterday I purchased Likno Tab Builder.

I have tried to setup a simple Tab Layout on a test page.

I am having problems getting the Tab Layout to show on the page. It will NOT display.

I have tried everything that I can think of and have read the help page etc.

Would you please have a look and let me know what I may be doing wrong.

Regards,
Ray

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear Ray,

The problem is caused by the colorbox script you have lower in your page, and specifically by the fact that you load again the jQuery (which was already loaded) and this removes the Tabs library which was loaded with it. Please remove the following line to fix the problem:

jquery loaded twice

Ideally you may want to move all the “colorbox” code in the <head> just after the “superfish” code, and move the Tabs code to be the first thing after <body> (leaving the positioning element “liknotabs_positionID” where you have it now).

Initial Email From:

Initial Email Subject: Accordion Builder Question
Support Case Month: June 2012

Hi,

I'm using Accordion Builder on a new client project and wish to have a side accordion floating on the left of the window. I've used Example 15L as my source and all works fine on standard monitors. However on mobile devices the pop out goes into the other content on the site, I would like the pop out to be on top. I can't find anywhere to change the z index of the accordion. Is this possible, as at the moment the pop out content is hidden under other elements.

Thanks for any help.

Dave

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear Dave,

I believe the default accordion z-index is “3”, and indeed currently there is no way to change this.

I have forwarded your request to our developers and hopefully it will be added within the week.

I will send you an email as soon as this is online.

Dear Dave,

I just found this email regarding the z-index for the Accordion Builder.

I am informing you that

1) the default z-index is now 500

2) you can change this in the “Floating” Positioning property:

floating position accordion

Hi,

Thanks for this. However I've just purchased continued support and updates and updated the software, but unfortunately it's still not working. I've loaded in my project, re-compiled it and replaced the link code in the html and it still doesn't work. The website I'm working on is http://www.cornishdreamcottages.co.uk/ You will see a special offers button on the left, if you re-size the browser to get the edge of the site close to the button and then click the button and scroll down the page, you will see that the accordion goes under some elements. The reason it doesn't go over all elements is because the top elements have been set to a z-index of 0. If you go to this page http://www.cornishdreamcottages.co.uk/about_treworgey.htm you will see that it goes under all elements.

Thanks for any help.

Regards,

Dave
