When you click on the Main top menu, the very first drop down menu level has a box to the left what is this how can I get rid of it.

Hello Steve,

I guess you mean the green boxes that you see in the screenshot below.

menu floating images

The most probable is that you use "Has header" property in submenu items. Please, select "No" in this property.

menu has header

If this is not the case,

Please export and send me your project file, so that we can have a better look at the problem.

This is what you should do to export your project into a ZIP file and then email this ZIP to us.

export menu project

Thank you!

How could I keep a floating image indicator unhidden on a selected menu item? For example, I would like the indicator of the home page to be shown while the user is in the home page.

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello,

This is not possible exactly the way you describe it. What you can do instead, is to use the floating image on the “click state”, and set your menu to automatically highlight the “current item”.

This will automatically set the “current item” to the “click state”, based on the URL shown in the address bar:

floating image on click state

highlight menu item bases on URL

I use floating images in my menus.  They show up fine in IE but not Firefox.  The space for the image is there but the image is not.  It is like it is recognizing that there should be an image there but it will not display.  Can you tell me why?  The attached image shows the floated image and the properties for the floating image.

Thanks,

Dear Matt,
I see that you are using a very old version of AllWebMenus and it is very possible that this is the cause of the problem. I strongly recommend downloading, installing and (if required) activating the latest AllWebMenus version. Then recompile your menu with this and upload the compiled menu file and menu library folder (“main_menu_top.js” file and “awmData-main_menu_top” folder).

Hey everybody,

We wanted to let you know that we have released a new version of  AllWebMenus Pro, version 5.3 build #842!

Check out What's New:

- Added support for floating images in all Server-Side Menus API related products (WordPress, Joomla, Drupal Menu Add-ins, etc.)

- Added support for not printing the menu layout when printing the page.

- Added the "!important" value to font-size so that the menu font is not affected by the website CSS.

- Added some code so that the "generic sitemap" is fully validated when using a CSS validator.

- Removed the "awmlib3.js" and "awmlib5.js" when compiling, as they are now obsolete.

- Fixed an issue where the menu was not showing properly if the website CSS was using a specific padding for the TD element.

- Fixed an issue in Joomla Menu Add-in where the ampersand (&) was converted to "&" in links.

- Fixed an issue in Joomla Menu Add-in where a PHP warning was produced on certain configurations.

- Fixed an issue in Joomla Menu Add-in where some submenus didn't get the correct style and nested submenus were not created properly on certain configurations.

- Minor GUI enhancements.

A popular feature you may come across in Web pages, is to swap images in a specific area of the page whenever you mouse over the menu's items. It is a feature that is being requested often of some of our customers too. This feature can be easily implemented by a menu that has been built by AllWebMenus Pro application.

One way to implement this feature is to go to the "Menu Editor" of the AllWebMenus Pro, choose the item(s) of the menu you want to have this behavior and then place the appropriate JavaScript code into the "JavaScript Command" property of this item (see the image below). The JavaScript code you must place into this property must be any valid JavaScript code (e.g. an already defined function in your HTML page) and it is in your responsibility to provide this valid code.

You can also implement this feature using the "Floating Image" property of the item. There you can define the image you want to appear whenever you mouse over this item and the area of your page that this image will appear by providing the appropriate x, y offsets. You can find all the appropriate information about the usage of the floating images in the following link of our company's blog site: http://www.likno.com/blog/allwebmenus-dhtml-menu-maker-floating-images-new-feature/249/

However, the second way is not recommended because you need to be more careful when managing the offsets; for example you may encounter problems in the display of your image when you re size the browser's window.
