If I were to buy the advanced floating menu add on to the Allwebmenus I have, can I make a horizontal navigation that stays at the top of the window as you scroll?

Thanks,
Ivy

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello Ivy,

Yes you can do this easily.

Just keep the default values here:

menu advanced floating properties

Hi,

Just started to use AllWebmenu. Most things works just fine.

Now one thing before I can deploy this site......

I started with 'sliding menu' with my own buttons.

I enabled 'Auto highlight item'

I enabled 'Constant floating'

It worked fine and I saw that I could finetune the floating behaviour with 'Advanced floating menu' so I bought it yesterday.

It was easy to get the floating behaviour that I wanted. I was happy.

But now did the auto highlight inside the submenu stop to work. I have verified a couple of times to remove advanced floating, then the auto highlight works. Enable it and it stops.

Funny thing is if I press the same submenu twice then it works.

Please try second button 'Om Hälsokällan' and then one of the sub buttons. One time and a second time.

I was almost done and superimpresed. I hope you can get me back there again.

Lars

Dear Lars,

It seems that there is some small bug in this combination and while both the menu and submenu item get highlighted, the submenu does not automatically open.

I will forward this to our developers and I assure you that we will resolve it and upload a new fix within next week.

We are really sorry for this and hope it is not too much of a problem!

Hi Kostas,

Sounds good. How will I know when the fix is available ?

Can I find it in the download-section ? ( when it is finished of course )

Lars

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear Lars,

I will let you know as soon as I have a response from our developers. I expect this on Monday.

I will also send you an email to inform you as soon as the fix is online.

Once this is online, you will just need to download the latest AllWebMenus version from our site and install on top of our existing installation.

Hi Kostas,

I got the message of the new version 898 and was happy that my problem should be solved.

But it is not. It is still the same.

What happened.... Is my problem forgotten.

Do you need more information or is the bug documented ?

Lars

Dear Lars,

Your fix was not ready in that release. I told you I would email you as soon as it is ready. As a matter of fact it proved to be pretty complex, but our developers are working on it and I expect the fix to be ready later today.

Again, I will email you personally as soon as the fix is online.

Knowledge Base support case for Likno Web Accordion Builder, abstracted and stripped of all user’s private info.

Likno:
I experienced an odd behavior with Accordion Builder.  If you do the following:

  1. Go to URL: http://www.kavon.com/KAVONLearningCenter/Training/TrainingDescription-Accordion.php?CourseNum=GBC-001
  2. Leave the "Course Description" open.
  3. Scroll down to the "Course Syllabus" tab and open it.
  4. The position of the page is way past the end.  It seems to me that a better behavior would be to move to the bottom of the readjusted page or to the top of the page.

Thanks,
John

Dear John,

The accordion you are closing is much larger than the accordion you are opening. The result is that the while page shrinks.

However the floating menu you have on the right side keeps the page long and shrinks it slowly as the menu moves up, causing the effect you see.

I guess we could add some code so that the header of the currently open accordion is always visible after opening it. Would this do the trick?

Regarding the resizing issue, this has not been resolved yet. We are still looking into this, but it was moved down the priority line.

Kostas

Dear Likno:
Your suggestion may very well work. I'm not sure exactly what you mean.
About the resizing issue I raised before, is this only a problem with IE9?  When using Firefox, it seems to work properly (the first issue not the second).  If this is the case is there a workaround?  I am not able to dictate which browser a person would use when visiting my site.
Thanks,
John

Dear John,

We just uploaded a new build for Accordion which has true automatic width, and hence resolves the problem you had.

It also allows user-resizable accordions (this is a new feature). Please download it, test it and let me know.

This would be a great time to do so if you want something to be changed or improved.

Dear Likno:
It appears that the new version doesn't work at all.  See:
http://kavon.com/KAVONLearningCenter/Training/TrainingDescription-Accordion.php?CourseNum=GBC-001
When I include the option for user resizable, I can resize it but it does not open the initial window specified.

John

Dear John,

I noticed that you have set the accordions in your project to all have the same height (that of the largest accordion).

This is what is actually causing the problem, and even when fixed it looks bad to have a huge and almost empty accordion pane.

Please set the height to be different for each pane to fix the problem:

different height of each accordion pane

Hello,
In my floating menu, I have a button "Twitter"  "Newest Items" to link to my twitter account "{ACCOUNT NAME REMOVED}".  I use this link {URL REMOVED} in the Item Properties "link".
However when I click on this button on my webpage nothing happens. I also tried https:// as it is an option in twitter accounts. This link used to work, so I'm not sure what happened.
Any ideas ?
Thanks
Thomas

Hello,

I checked your page, and your online compiled menu has a link to “http://twitter.com” – not {URL REMOVED}.

Also when I click on it, it works fine and takes you to the twitter main page.

Initial Email From:

Initial Email Subject: Confused about product offer
Support Case Month: July 2012

Hi,

I'm finally getting around to upgrading my AllWebMenus Pro, but I'm confused about what's actually contained in the product.  From the purchase/upgrade page, it looks like floating / sliding / drop-down menus, etc., are all optional and an additional cost beyond the basic product.

Does this mean that the program doesn't have the ability to create any of these types of menus without purchasing the add-ons?  I tried to find a specific list of what's included in the base program, but couldn't figure it out.

Thanks for any help with this...

Terry

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear Terry,

Actually there are only two paid Add-ins currently, the “Advanced Floating Menu” Add-in and the “Sliding Menu” Add-in.

All the basic menus (horizontal & vertical) are included in the basic package without any extra cost. You only need to pay extra (to purchase the Add-in) if you want to create a Sliding Menu, or an Advanced Floating Menu (note that “Constant Floating Menus” are also included in the basic package for free).

If you want to see in more detail what the specific Add-ins offer you, have a look at their pages:
