Hello,

I purchased 2 products from Likno. I very happy with the products, however, with the web accordion builder I am having one problem. If I Add the code to an empty page on my website it looks beautiful as in pic #1 below, but on the home page, Pic #2 it is stretched out.
I also noticed that the text is different in both pics. Something to do with the CSS file?? Could someone help me with this problem? Thank you very much

Best Regards,

Michael

Dear Michael,

I checked both your pages and the accordion seems “broken” in both pages in most browsers! It seems to be ok in the “empty” page only in IE because this page has no DOCTYPE (or even a <body> tag!) so it forces IE into “quirks mode” (essentially IE5.5 Compatibility mode). Shall I assume that the accordion also looks broken into the application preview?

If you cannot find the cause of the problem in the CSS you used into the application, please export and send me the project so that I can have a look.

Kostas

Hello again,

After having a second look into your project and your page, I believe that the problem is caused by the different HTML you used, and specifically due to the <p> elements which tend to increase the size.

Please try using the application “Sample Code” especially for the Headers to see if this corrects the problem:

sample accordion code

Note that you can only insert one of the four identical <img> tags you see in each header. Each <img> represents a state (normal, mouseover etc) but since you use the same image in all states you can only have one.

Hello Kostas,

I think it looking much better now! Thank you for your help. One thing I would like to change is the thin black border around the accordion, can I change the color?

Best Regards,

Michael

Dear Miguel,

The problem with the preview (as you probably already know) is that the accordion does not fit in the page.

The problem with your actual page, is that you do not have a proper DOCTYPE and the page goes into “quirks” mode (i.e. IE5.5 compatibility mode).

Please try replacing this:

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"

"http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">

<html>

With this:

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

Hello Kostas,

Hello I fixed this by adding another button.  thanks, but still a problem as indicated above.

Even with the extra Icon, or panel, the control is still messed up in IE, there is a scroller I didn't want on my page.

I've attached another image of the page after the fix.  It looks better but still loads whacky.  If you reload it reloads correctly.

Hello again,

I checked and I see it fine! Did you try deleting your “Temporary Internet Files”? Maybe you are just seeing the old code still until you refresh the page.
