Hi Guys

I am an avid fan of your menu creator but I keep coming across the problem where rounded corners will not render in IE7 & 8.

For the rest of my websites I use CSS3PIE which means that the only thing that will not still round corners is your menu on these still widely used browsers.

There does not appear to be a CSS file to insert the simple style line that makes this work behavior:
url(path/to/PIE.htc);

Is it possible manually please and could you not integrate this into your menu builder?

Kind regards

Phil

Dear Phil,

I am afraid that AWM does not support the use of CSS3PIE.

I will however forward this to our developers to see if they can work something out.

I will let you know as soon as I have an answer.

Kostas

Linko,

You guys are amazing.  Your products are great.

My company has been a customer for a long time (2007?) and we are using the AllWebMenus product for many of our clients and on one client’s server with the Server Side Menu API as well. So I have extensive experience programming with your product.

So here our issue.  In IE10, IE9, IE8 (not checked IE7) if the menu is positioned relatively to an element in a CSS/DIVs only website (no tables) and the page is stretched out say from 1024 x 768 to 1280 x 768, then the menu scrolls to the right and is out of position.

You can see an example of this at our client {URL REMOVED}

Looking at the {URL REMOVED} in Chrome/Safari/Firefox at width 1024 , then stretching the browser to a width 1280 or more moves the menu on IE browsers to the right.  This behavior is not seen on the other browsers.

We are also seeing this issue on our client who has the Server Side API Implementation too. On that Server Side API implementation,  the current build number (awmLibraryBuild=850) displays the menu properly on all browsers but on the latest build it does not.

We greatly need assistance on this issue.

Thanks,
Dan

Dear Dan,

It seems that this is caused due to a CSS line in your “style.css”. Specifically the problem is caused by:

body { position: relative; }

However I noticed that this is part of your blog theme, so you may not be able to change it.

I have forwarded this case to our developers to see if they can develop a workaround on the menu library side. I will let you know as soon as this is ready.

Support Case Month: September 2012

Hi guys

I think there is a bug in that the right side image on the menu, shows as missing or left sided in IE7 & 8, Chrome and Safari but is ok in IE9 and Firefox.

I’ m trying to avoid specifying a width as using Dreamweaver CS6 and the Fluid Grid layout which provides responsive designs - with the pace of smart phone web use the menus will have to perform cross device, perhaps % sizing would help

I will send the awn file by email and it includes the asset files as well.

Kind regards

Phil

Dear Phil,

It seems that this issue is generated by a rule in your layout.css file. Specifically, you have the following rule close to the top of the file:

img, object, embed, video {

        max-width: 100%;

}

This rule affects ALL images, including those of the menu. I suggest that you remove this rule, or make it more specific (e.g. apply to a given class).

If this is not possible, let me know and I will forward the case to our developers to see if they can work around the problem on the menu library side.

Hi Kostas

Thanks for the reply.

It is not possible to change this as it is the starting point for Dreamweaver CS6 new fluid grid or ‘Responsive’ layouts.

It is created by the Dreamweaver system, as is all of layout.css and we are advised not to touch it.

I would be grateful if your developers have a workaround please.

Kind regards

Phil

Dear Kostas

Thank you.

A resolution advice would be appreciated, the site only has a few more pages to do and the client is keen to go live.

They are well impressed with the responsive system and how it looks on smart phones.

Dear Kostas

Thank you – it works Smile

I cannot believe how quickly you guys resolved this – fantastic.

I was beginning to think that perhaps AWM would not be suitable for Responsive design I am going to have to use in the future and as I use AWM on nearly all my sites I was disappointed.

Hopefully your developers have cured this for all the designs and please pass my thanks on to them for such  great service.

As an aside, I have used the menus now for a good few years and I would love to see new theme releases looking more modern with say rounded corners built in to the graphics.

On each new site I struggle to find a different design and have to discard the ones that have square corners as IE 7 and 8 will not round them and css3pie.com that I use cannot be connected to the menu to round them.

You guys have a great product and service, hope you do not mind me giving a bit of user feedback.

Thanks again.

Kind regards

Phil

Hello Phil,

We are glad to have helped you.

We are looking to create a "Responsive Menu" Add-in, where you can choose different styling and positioning for the menu when different "rules" apply (screen width less than 500 pixels, etc.). This will be implemented in October, we will let you know before releasing it so that you can give it a try and let us know your thoughts.

Hello again,

Which browser are you using to test this?

Also, can you please try upgrading to the latest Modal Window build? I have extended your Update Plan so that you can do this for free. Note that you will need to also get a new Activation Code when you install the latest version (you’ll get this from the User Area).

Dear Support,

I've updated the software, right now it does not work for Internet explorer at all.  As for FireFox, part of the window model appears transparent. Please take a look at http://englam.pcmaster.com.sg/model.html/

I rename the model window from CardScan to ModelWindow in side application and did as follow:

1. Recompile and link

2. Upload model.html (testing page) to server.

3. Upload model folder to server which contains; "\likno-scripts", "\likno-scripts\likno-modal-project" and "\likno-scripts\likno-modal-project.js".

Kindly advise please.

Stanley

I noticed that your online library file has an invalid character which was probably caused by an incompatibility in your operating system. I have changed the specific character in the library so that it should work ok in your system too.

Please download again the latest version of Modal Windows (246.2) and let me know:

Dear Support,

Also,  model windows body background color (background-color:#EAF1FB;) does not work on Internet Explorer, should be light blue but it appears white.

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear Stanley,

This is because the external page you are loading has a white background. We have added code that tries to pass the modal background into the loaded page, but this is not supported in all browsers as it is considered a “security breach” by some.

The correct solution would be to change the actual page that is loaded, so that it has the background you want.

Regarding the “loading image”, this is also not possible in “external pages”, as there you see the page immediately, but you see it loading as you would see it in your browser if you loaded only that page.
