Dear Ladies and Gentleman,
my Admin told me to contact you. He had done my webpage with Likno Software. Unfortunately it doesn't work with Safari. With IE and Firefox perfect. My Customers using Safari have problems, because no Buttons are shown at the Menu.
Do you know, why? Can you help me please!
best, Gerald

Dear Gerald,

The problem is that your menu has been compiled with a very old version of AllWebMenus that did not support Safari 5 (as Safari 5 was released about a year later and introduced some new incompatibilities).

I see that you have extended your Update Plan this March, so you are eligible to free updates up to March 2013.

Please download the latest version from your Likno User Area account  (and if required, also get a new Activation Code):

download latest AllWebMenus version

Then please recompile ALL your menu projects, and upload the new compiled files (including the “awmdata” folder).

This will make your menus support all the latest browsers and mobile devices.

Let me know if you find any problems.

Regards,
Kostas

All things are great in Windows. In Safari the Menu is not visible.

Hello,

It appears that the menu on your website was compiled with an *old* version of AllWebMenus (see “release history” here: http://www.likno.com/whatsnew.html ).

You need to update/upgrade your AllWebMenus and re-compile/re-upload your menu files, as the *old* compiled menu cannot support the latest browsers and standards. Some browser versions did not even exist by that time (e.g. Safari 5 was officially released in June 2011).

How?

- Login to your Likno User Area at http://www.likno.com/userarea

- Click the "View/Manage Licenses and Plans":

view manage licenses allwebmenus

- See there if your Update Plan has expired or not.

If "expired" then click the "Renew" link and renew your Update Plan.

- Download the current Version (Build) ( http://www.likno.com/download.html ) and install it.

- In your Likno User Area, click the "Get Activation Code" link and get a new Activation Code for this updated installation:

get activation code

- Open your old project file (.awm) in AllWebMenus, re-compile it and then upload the new menu files (along with the "awmdata" folder) to your website.

Note that you may need to delete your browser’s Temporary Internet Files (or cache files) before refreshing the page in order to see the menu.

Thanks!

Hello,
thanks, but i don´t understand what you said. Look www.mobo-bau.de with Safari. It works with a very older Version from AllWebMenus.

Dear Erich,

Indeed the extremely old v3 does work in Safari 5. I understand that this may seem a bit “weird”, but it is not if you know some things regarding the underlying structure of the menu.

The  v3 menu was much simpler with only a small fraction of the features that the v5 has. In order to be able to support all those features, over the years we had to change the underlying structure of the menu, add more layers etc. The latest Safari release introduced some incompatibilities with all these which we fixed in newer versions.

Please download the latest AllWebMenus version and then get a new Activation Code from the User Area using the new Installation ID the application will have.

I hope this is ok with you. Let me know if you have any objections or if you need further help.

Kostas
