When i link my menu to my index page, it is not publishing.  I can usually see it in the upper lefty hand corner of the page but it does not appear.

Dear Bob,

I just checked your page and the menu does appear and work normally.

Do you still not see the menu? If so, which browser are you using?

Also please make sure that you deleted your Temporary Internet Files (or “cache” files).

The menu is not transferring to my website.  When I preview it in the browser, it is correct.  However when I upload to my site, changes do not appear.

Example:  On the Basketball Link, I spelled Basketball incorrectly.  I changed the spelling on the menu generator, compiled it, previewed it and it shows that it was corrected.  However when I try to publish it, the correction is not made.  Can you check to see that all the settings are accurate.

Dear Bob,

It sounds like the problem is in the uploading process. Can you please confirm that you are uploading the correct files to the correct place?

Before uploading the compiled “menu.js”, please open it in Notepad and check if the file is indeed corrected:

some menu code

Then upload the file, and load it again in Firefox (or any browser except IE):

I am using ie. if you select e-learning>first menu item in sub menu then the likno menu disappears. The menu is on a master page so it should show

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear John,

I checked this page and the problem is elsewhere.

The Linking Code you are using points to “/menu.js” which does not exist (as you currently only have the menu in your test folder).

In the index page you have two Linking Codes, one for “/menu.js” and one for “menu.js”. Since the second points within the test folder, the menu shows.

You can change your Linking Code in all pages to “/test/menu.js” for your test, but remember to turn it to “/menu.js” once you move the menu in the root for the “real” site.

The menus work fine when I preview in MS Expression, but after published the index.html works fine but all of the other menus (which are the same) don't work on all the different pages. Please advise at you earliest convenience. Thanks, James

Hello,

I checked both your index and the ADB1 page, and I do not see the menu in either of them!

The reason is that the compiled menu file does not exist in the URL where they point to. This is what I get when I try to view the online menu file:

menu does not exist

I tried to open the same using this link - {URL REMOVED}   it tries to open

It attempts to open it.  This is the source code for the index.html page:

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

If you see the Linking Code it points to a different location:

src="../../WEB_BOT/BOTmenu.js"

Did you add the Linking Code manually or was it added by the application? Also, are you using the Expression Web plugin? And which version of Expression Web are you using?

I am using version 4.

I used a template to build the website and the menu was automatically placed in each page?

C:\Webs\WEB_BOT\BOTmenu.js       this is the location of file on my computer

{URL REMOVED} is this the location it should point to

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Then I guess that you just used the wrong Root Folder path in AllWebMenus. Did you use “C:\Webs\WEB_BOT” (correct) or “C:\Webs” (wrong)?

I have had my clients website up and running for almost a year. All of a sudden my menu stopped showing up on his website. I recompiled the menu and moved the appropriate files over to my server...no success. Could you give me suggestions on what to check?

Thanks,

Ted

Hi Kostas!

I am confused about one thing...locally it works just fine.

I moved over my index.html file, my recompiled files and an include file that

calls the menu...main_menu.inc

It seems that a disconnect is happening....I checked my include file call and it

seems just fine. What gets me is for this to just stop working. I haven't touched

the site in months!

I went to the site and checked the source...I can see my .inc call to the above

file. Any suggestions would help. But I will continue to look at the issue.

Thanks for you response!

Ted

Dear Ted,

I checked your page’s Source Code again, and found some things like this:

php require

If your page was a PHP page, then this should NEVER show! It should be parsed by PHP and only the result (if any) should be visible in the code.

Is it possible that your host changed something on the server and this (and possibly more) page(s) is no longer treated as PHP but as plain HTML?

This would explain why the menu include file is no longer included and the menu no longer appears…

I have designed a new menu with you program and was able to complile the menu and link to a specific page. The menu shows on the preview but does not on the web (using Front Page) after publishing FTP.

Can you take a look at the page and tell me what is incorrect. I have not used your program for several years and have just exteded my license today.

The page is www.bomarinterconnect.com/indexcopy22x.html  It is a temporary page I am using which will replace the existing index page.

Hello Bob,

menu linking code

It appears that the menu on your website was compiled with an *old* version of AllWebMenus (see “release history” here: http://www.likno.com/whatsnew.html ).

You need to update/upgrade your AllWebMenus and re-compile/re-upload your menu files, as the *old* compiled menu cannot support the latest browsers and standards. Some browser versions did not even exist by that time (e.g. IE9 was officially released in March 2011).

- First, login to your Likno User Area (http://www.likno.com/userarea) to upgrade your AllWebMenus license.

upgrade license

- Then, download the latest version from http://www.likno.com/download.html

- In your Likno User Area, click the "Get Activation Code" link, and get a new Activation Code for your installed program:

get activation code

- Open your old project file (.awm) in AllWebMenus, re-compile it and then upload the new menu files (along with the "awmdata" folder) to your website.

Note that you may need to delete your browser’s Temporary Internet Files (or cache files) before refreshing the page in order to see the menu.

Thanks!

Thank you for the update.

I have activated the license and have downloaded All Web Menus PRO 5.3. I have republished both the awm data and the page FTP. The menu does not appear. (using Front Page) Is there a position html tag that I must add to have the menu show live?
